Danny Kristo has signed a one-year, two-way deal with the St. Louis Blues.
Kristo had 22 goals and 46 points in 72 AHL contests in 2014-15. The 25-year-old forward will probably start the campaign in the minors, but it wouldn't be shocking to see him make his NHL debut at some point during the season as an injury replacement. Jul 2 - 10:51 AM

Coach Alain Vigneault was impressed with the play of Danny Kristo at practice Saturday.

The coach thought that the play of Kristo was much improved. The funny part about the chat was that Vigneault could not remember Kristo's first name and called him by his nickname "Count". Kristo had 25 goals and 43 points in 63 AHL games for Hartford last season. He has an outside shot of leaving training camp with the Rangers as a bottom-six forward.

Coach Alain Vigneault has been very impressed with rookies Danny Kristo, Jesper Fast and Oscar Lindberg.

The Rangers dealt Christian Thomas in the off-season to Montreal and received Kristo in return and thus far they are happy with his play as well as Fast and Lindberg. "They're all going to get the opportunity to play in situations where they can succeed," Vigneault said. "When you're talking about Fast and Kristo, they're supposed to be offensive players, so I'm trying to get them on lines to match their skill level. With four games in five nights coming up, we're going to get a real good read on where our young players are. So far none have let us down; it's been exciting to see the young energy." Look for Kristo to start the season in the minors as he played NCAA last season where he scored 26 goals and 52 points in 40 games.

Danny Kristo is getting ready for the Traverse City tournament.

"Obviously, it’s an exciting time, the first training camp of my pro career," Kristo said today. "I’m excited to go to Traverse City and get some games in before training camp. It was an exciting summer." Kristo is looking to make the jump to the NHL after scoring 26 goals and 52 points in 40 NCAA games last season. That being said, given the Rangers' roster situation, he is far more likely to start the 2013-14 campaign in the minors.

The Montreal Canadiens trade prospect Danny Kristo to the New York Rangers for minor leaguer Christian Thomas.

Both players are former second-round picks and, at one point, much-hyped prospects. Kristo played in nine games with AHL Hamilton this season after graduating from the University of North Dakota. Thomas, on the other hand, turned pro this season and even made his NHL debut.

Montreal prospect Danny Kristo has been suspended for the second time this season because of an off-ice incident.

No details have surfaced on the "team party" that led to the suspension. Many had expected that the 21-year-old Habs propspect was ready to take the next step by turning pro and starting his career with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season. However, the talented right winger is returning for his final year with the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. He should be owned as a minor leaguer in keeper leagues.
