Seth Jones had a goal and two assists in a 7-0 victory over Winnipeg Saturday night.
Jones has a goal and 10 points in 16 contests this season. He was limited to 25 and 27 points in each of his first two campaigns, but it looks like the 21-year-old will be able to take a step forward offensively this season. While we're a bit weary of reading too much into his point-per-game pace given that it's been skewed by his recent stretch of five points over three contests, we do think he can surpass the 30-point mark. The Nashville Predators were unable to cash in on a critical 5-on-3 power play in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Blues.

The Preds were down by one and had a two-man advantage for 80 seconds in the second period, but they couldn't find the back of the net. "That's one of those points of the game where it's 1-0 toward the end of the (second) period ... if you don't score, they get momentum, and if you do, you get it," Predators defenseman Seth Jones said. "It's just kind of one of those moments where our team probably really needed a goal, but it just didn't happen."
Nov 8 - 9:11 AM

Seth Jones pitched in two assists in the Preds' opening victory against Carolina on Thursday night.

Jones played 21:04 on opening night, and proved why he might be one of the best third defenseman in the league by posting two points behind Shea Weber and Roman Josi. Though 27 points in 82 games last season does not exactly make him a fantasy star, he should improve on that in his third year in the league.

Seth Jones will be living on his own for the first time since being drafted into the NHL.

After he was drafted, Jones' mom thought it would be best for her to move to Nashville with her son, and they have lived together for the first two years of his career. "It helped me a lot," Jones said of his prior living arrangements. "I think made it a lot easier. Sometimes you don't want to live at home with your mom, but sometimes you have to and that's kind of how it was."
Jun 21 - 10:20 AM

Seth Jones knows that his team gave it all they had, but he still believes that Nashville's playoff run ended too early.

"I think everyone left it out there every game this season, regular season and playoffs," Predators defenseman Seth Jones said. "We played as hard as we could. We're not out of the playoffs right now because of lack of effort. And that's all we can ask of each other. … Unfortunately, it ended a little bit too early." Nashville was one of the better teams in the NHL during the regular season, but they failed to translate that into playoff success.
Apr 26 - 9:02 AM

Seth Jones may be in line to replace Shea Weber (leg) on Nashville's top defense pairing with Roman Josi.

This hasn't been confirmed yet, but The Nashville Tennessean's John Glennon says it's a real possibility. Jones, 20, is still young and it will be interesting to see how he is able to handle playing against Chicago's top forwards. Jones had eight goals and 27 points in 82 games this season. He averaged just under 20 minutes of ice-time per game in 2014-15.
Apr 19 - 9:04 AM

The Nashville Predators will play the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the playoffs.

Both teams had great regular seasons but one of them will be going home early. Both teams have balanced scoring but a lot will hinge on Hawks' star Patrick Kane's return from injury. "They're very dangerous offensively, obviously," Predators defenseman Seth Jones said. "They can make plays and make you pay if you turn the puck over. We've got to do a great job of managing pucks against them and just trying to work them down low and playing our game." These two teams last met in a playoff series in 2010 (Chicago eliminated Nashville in six games). Game one will be on Wednesday.
Apr 12 - 9:43 AM

Seth Jones scored his eighth goal of the season on Thursday night in Nashville's 4-2 loss to Minnesota.

Jones now has 27 points and is a plus-four in his second season in the NHL, showing nice improvement from last season.
Apr 10 - 1:19 AM

Seth Jones has been skating alongside Roman Josi because of Shea Weber's lower-body injury.

Jones has received his two highest ice-time totals (27:01 and 26:19) of the season in two of the three games Weber has missed. He also has one goal, nine shots and a minus-2 rating.
Apr 2 - 10:54 AM

Seth Jones scored in Sunday's 5-2 loss to Calgary.

He had gone 22 straight games without scoring a goal. Jones has seven markers and 25 points in 77 games this season. He has matched his point total from his rookie campaign and hit a new high in goals in the process.
Mar 30 - 2:18 PM

Seth Jones switched to the left side during Wednesday's practice and was paired with Ryan Ellis, who is poised to return from a lower-body injury.

"It was a little confusing at first because I've been playing right all year, so there were a couple times I felt myself drifting toward the right and (Ellis) was like, 'Where ya' going?' " Jones said. "But we'll be fine in the game. I just have to get used to it a little bit." Jones skated on the left during the early part of the 2013-14 season.
Feb 26 - 3:02 PM

Seth Jones has been solid offensively of late.

He recorded a shorthanded goal against Toronto on Tuesday to give him two markers and four assists in his last nine games. Jones has 16 points and a plus-10 rating after 50 matches, which has him on pace to repeat his rookie total of 25 points.
Feb 4 - 2:12 PM

Seth Jones tallied his first goal of the season on Monday.

The 20-year-old sophomore has seven points and a plus-8 rating in 32 games this year. More offense was expected from him, but he's played a solid game while averaging 17:30 of ice time. Jones doesn't have value in standard leagues right now even though his keeper value remains high.
Tue, Dec 23, 2014 11:27:00 AM

Seth Jones has been paired with newcomer Anton Volchenkov early into the 2014-15 campaign.

The rugged play of Volchenkov has rubbed off on Jones. "I find myself blocking more shots playing with him, to be honest, and it kind of rubs off on you," Jones said. "He's very definitive in his play. Very straightforward. Keeps it simple and is very good in his own zone." Jones has been credited with seven blocks and two hits in three games this season. He doesn't have a point yet and he's averaged 18:40 of ice time per match.

Nashville GM David Poile remains extremely confident in the abilities of defenseman Seth Jones.

The soon-to-be 20-year old played a full season in the NHL as a teenager in 2013-14 and, in the eyes of Poile, did nothing to take the shine off the massive expectations placed upon him. "For 19 years old I'm not sure what you're supposed to expect, but he did a lot of really good things," Poile said. "I know he had some bumps in the road. I think his plus/minus (minus-23), you'd like to be better, but he went over to the World Championship and played really well; best defenseman in the tournament. He's been working out all summer. I'm expecting real good things. Just a little bit better in every area." Given the time generally afforded to young defenseman to develop into finished products, Jones appears to be on the path to stardom.
