Fredrik Claesson did indeed play alongside Erik Karlsson Saturday night against Montreal.

He was subbing in for the injured Marc Methot after being a healthy scratch for the Senators' last four games. Claesson has played well in spot starts this season. That said, his highest point total in three AHL seasons is 29. He is not a fantasy asset at this time.

Fredrik Claesson could get a chance to play with Erik Karlsson on Saturday night.

Karlsson's regular defense partner, Marc Methot, suffered a finger injury against Pittsburgh on Thursday night and he'll be out for the next few weeks. So it'll be up to Claesson to fill his shoes. Claesson has two goals and seven assists in 24 games this season. Ottawa will take on Montreal in a huge Atlantic Division clash at the Bell Center.
