Nov 24 - 7:13 PM

Fredrik Claesson logged 26:51 of ice time on Tuesday versus Vancouver.

The Senators dressed seven defensmen in the contest, but Christian Jaros and Chris Wideman both saw under 10 minutes of action and Thomas Chabot was on the ice for 13:41. Ottawa has sorely missed Erik Karlsson early into the 2017-18 campaign.
Oct 12 - 8:42 AM

Fredrik Claesson won a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 24-year-old has played a part-time role with the Senators over the last two seasons, but he'll hope to become a regular on Ottawa's blue line this season. Claesson had three goals, eight assists and a plus-5 rating in 33 NHL games last season.
Sep 19 - 10:28 PM

Fredrik Claesson finished the playoffs with a bad back.

In 14 postseason contests, he contributed three assists and seven shots on goal. It's believed that Claesson won't require off-season surgery.
May 29 - 2:28 PM

Fredrik Claesson earned his third assist of the postseason on Tuesday night.

He dropped the puck to Mike Hoffman, who wired a hard shot into the post behind Pittsburgh's Matt Murray and into the net for the game-winning goal in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final. Claesson made a good play on the marker by driving towards the goal. Clarke MacArthur had the other assist on Hoffman's winner to force Game 7 on Thursday night.
May 24 - 8:29 AM

Fredrik Claesson will stay in the lineup Tuesday night.

He got back in the fold for Game 5 versus the Rangers and coach Guy Boucher won't make any changes to the Senators' defense corps. That will make Ben Harpur a healthy scratch again.
May 9 - 5:18 PM

Fredrik Claesson will return to the Sens lineup for Game 5 against the Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

Claesson was a healthy scratch in Ottawa's Game 4 loss in New York, but he'll take Ben Harpur's spot in the lineup today. Claesson has one assist, a plus one rating and two penalty minutes in five games during the postseason. It's still unclear if the Sens will make any other lineup changes.
May 6 - 12:18 PM

Fredrik Claesson will be a healthy scratch for Game 4 Thursday night.

Chris Wideman will draw into the lineup in Claesson's place. Senators coach Guy Boucher is fine with how Claesson played overall, but he wants Ottawa to play a more physical game. That's why the 6-foot-7 Ben Harpur is staying in the lineup over Claesson.
May 4 - 1:57 PM

Fredrik Claesson and Jyrki Jokipakka are projected to be scratched against the Bruins for Game 5 on Friday.

Only Claesson has seen any action so far this postseason. In his one game, he posted no points nor any shots in just under 19 minutes of work.
Apr 21 - 6:38 PM

Fredrik Claesson did indeed play alongside Erik Karlsson Saturday night against Montreal.

He was subbing in for the injured Marc Methot after being a healthy scratch for the Senators' last four games. Claesson has played well in spot starts this season. That said, his highest point total in three AHL seasons is 29. He is not a fantasy asset at this time.
Mar 26 - 10:48 AM

Fredrik Claesson could get a chance to play with Erik Karlsson on Saturday night.

Karlsson's regular defense partner, Marc Methot, suffered a finger injury against Pittsburgh on Thursday night and he'll be out for the next few weeks. So it'll be up to Claesson to fill his shoes. Claesson has two goals and seven assists in 24 games this season. Ottawa will take on Montreal in a huge Atlantic Division clash at the Bell Center.
Mar 25 - 11:37 AM

Fredrik Claesson got his first NHL goal in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Dallas.
