Marek Hrivik isn't in the Rangers' lineup for Game 1.
It was a bit surprising when Hrivik was called up this afternoon, given that there was no indication that the Rangers needed another forward and Hrivik had already played in an AHL contest earlier in the day. Whatever the Rangers' reasoning for calling up Hrivik though, it seems he will not play Wednesday night. Apr 13 - 8:13 PM

The New York Rangers have summoned Marek Hrivik.

That might suggest that someone who was supposed to play Wednesday night is hurt or sick, but we probably won't have any information about that until the pregame warmups. It seems unlikely that the Rangers have called him up with the intention of using him in tonight's game though given that he's already participated in one game today at the AHL level. To have him serve in two contests in a single day would be incredibly unconventional, so perhaps he's here for a more long-term reason.
Apr 13 - 4:18 PM

The Rangers returned Marek Hrivik to AHL Hartford following Saturday's win over Detroit.

Hrivik played a quality 18:18 against the Red Wings, but he was up just to fill a spot for the regular season finale. The 24-year-old has posted a career best 40 points down on the farm this season.
Apr 9 - 4:13 PM

Marek Hrivik has been called up by the New York Rangers.

Viktor Stalberg and Mats Zuccarello will both be unavailable Saturday because of lower-body injuries, so Hrivik will help fill the void. He has 12 goals and 40 points in 66 AHL games this season. The 24-year-old has also recorded an assist in four games with the Rangers.
Apr 8 - 6:22 PM

The Rangers have sent Marek Hrivik back to AHL Hartford following Sunday's acquisition of Eric Staal.

During the first four NHL games of his career, Hrivik recorded an assist with two hits and a block on less than nine minutes per night on average. The 24-year-old has seven goals and 28 points in 52 games with Hartford this season.
Feb 28 - 3:40 PM

Marek Hrivik ended up playing on Thursday despite missing the morning skate with flu-like symptoms.

Hrivik logged 9:04 minutes of ice time and had a plus-one rating in a 2-1 victory over St. Louis. It was his third career NHL game.
Feb 26 - 10:58 AM

Marek Hrivik is still probable for Thursday's contest even though he's been experiencing flu-like symptoms.

Hrivik skipped the morning skate as a result of his illness. If he can't play then defenseman Dylan McIlrath will draw in as a forward.
Feb 25 - 1:54 PM

Marek Hrivik didn't participate in Thursday's morning skate because of flu-like symptoms.

Consider Hrivik questionable for Thursday's contest as a result. He has an assist in two games with the Rangers this season.
Feb 25 - 1:00 PM

Marek Hrivik logged 7:32 minutes in his NHL debut on Sunday.

While Hrivik didn't get a lot of playing time overall, he did get a bit of work on the penalty kill. He was credited with a hit and a blocked shot in the Rangers' 1-0 overtime win versus Detroit. "He didn’t play a lot but the few minutes that he played, I thought he played fine," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said on Sunday. "His first game with us so for a first experience I’m sure he learned a lot. He’ll have a chance to practice will the team tomorrow, and go on from there."
Feb 22 - 9:10 AM

Marek Hrivik will indeed make his NHL debut on Sunday against Detroit.

Hrivik will skate on the Rangers' fourth line with Tanner Glass and Dominic Moore. "I think it's safe to say that our expectations of that line is a little bit higher than what we are getting at this time," Coach Alain Vigneault said. "The only player where we are satisfied with what he's bringing is Tanner." Hrivik has posted seven goals and 28 points in 52 games with AHL Hartford.

Feb 21 - 4:54 PM

Marek Hrivik was summoned up to the Rangers after Daniel Paille was waived, and cleared waivers on Sunday.

Hrivik has been in New York's organization since the 2011-12 season when he signed as a free agent out of Montcon of the QMJHL. The 24-year-old has easily had his best season yet this campaign with seven goals and 28 points in 52 games with AHL Hartford. It's likely that Hrivik will make his NHL debut against Detroit tonight.

The New York Rangers and Marek Hrivik have agreed to terms.

Marek Hrivik looked good at New York's prospect camp during Thursday's scrimmage.

He recorded a goal and two assists for Team White in a 6-4 loss to Team Blue. The scrimmage had more of a controlled drill type of feel, with plenty of power plays, but Hrivik has been impressive. He could get a chance to stick with the Rangers out of training camp this fall because Ryan Callahan and Carl Hagelin are expected to be sidelined for the start of the 2013-14 season due to shoulder injuries.

Undrafted forward Marek Hrivik has signed a contract with the New York Rangers.

The 20-year-old spent the majority of the 2011-12 season in the QMJHL with Moncton, but he finished the year with New York's AHL affiliate in Connecticut after agreeing to an Amateur Tryout Agreement on March 30. He performed well for the club in the postseason with a team-leading five goals and nine points in nine games.
