Marek Hrivik's goal is to stick with the Rangers in 2016-17.

The 24-year-old got his first taste of NHL action last season, as he tallied one assist in five games with the Rangers. "I hope they liked what they saw," Hrivik said. "From the discussion I had with them, they said I was on a good pace, that I should step it up even more, and that I am close. I have to make sure I'm ready for training camp because there are going to be a lot of guys there battling for a spot, too, good players." Hrivik spent most of last season in the AHL where he scored 41 points in 68 contests.

Jul 28 - 2:38 PM

Marek Hrivik isn't in the Rangers' lineup for Game 1.

It was a bit surprising when Hrivik was called up this afternoon, given that there was no indication that the Rangers needed another forward and Hrivik had already played in an AHL contest earlier in the day. Whatever the Rangers' reasoning for calling up Hrivik though, it seems he will not play Wednesday night.
Apr 13 - 8:13 PM

The New York Rangers have summoned Marek Hrivik.

That might suggest that someone who was supposed to play Wednesday night is hurt or sick, but we probably won't have any information about that until the pregame warmups. It seems unlikely that the Rangers have called him up with the intention of using him in tonight's game though given that he's already participated in one game today at the AHL level. To have him serve in two contests in a single day would be incredibly unconventional, so perhaps he's here for a more long-term reason.
Apr 13 - 4:18 PM

The Rangers returned Marek Hrivik to AHL Hartford following Saturday's win over Detroit.

Hrivik played a quality 18:18 against the Red Wings, but he was up just to fill a spot for the regular season finale. The 24-year-old has posted a career best 40 points down on the farm this season.

Marek Hrivik has been called up by the New York Rangers.

Viktor Stalberg and Mats Zuccarello will both be unavailable Saturday because of lower-body injuries, so Hrivik will help fill the void. He has 12 goals and 40 points in 66 AHL games this season. The 24-year-old has also recorded an assist in four games with the Rangers.

Hrivik logged 9:04 minutes of ice time and had a plus-one rating in a 2-1 victory over St. Louis. It was his third career NHL game.
Feb 26 - 10:58 AM

Marek Hrivik is still probable for Thursday's contest even though he's been experiencing flu-like symptoms.

Hrivik skipped the morning skate as a result of his illness. If he can't play then defenseman Dylan McIlrath will draw in as a forward.
Feb 25 - 1:54 PM

Feb 25 - 1:00 PM

Marek Hrivik logged 7:32 minutes in his NHL debut on Sunday.

While Hrivik didn't get a lot of playing time overall, he did get a bit of work on the penalty kill. He was credited with a hit and a blocked shot in the Rangers' 1-0 overtime win versus Detroit. "He didn’t play a lot but the few minutes that he played, I thought he played fine," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said on Sunday. "His first game with us so for a first experience I’m sure he learned a lot. He’ll have a chance to practice will the team tomorrow, and go on from there."
Feb 22 - 9:10 AM

Marek Hrivik will indeed make his NHL debut on Sunday against Detroit.

Hrivik will skate on the Rangers' fourth line with Tanner Glass and Dominic Moore. "I think it's safe to say that our expectations of that line is a little bit higher than what we are getting at this time," Coach Alain Vigneault said. "The only player where we are satisfied with what he's bringing is Tanner." Hrivik has posted seven goals and 28 points in 52 games with AHL Hartford.
