Carolina has signed goalie John Muse to a one-year, two-way contract.

He will make $525,000 if he plays at the NHL level and $50,000 in the minors, in addition to a $10,000 signing bonus. Muse split time between the AHL's Charlotte Checkers and the ECHL's Florida Everblades in 2011-12. He posted a 10-3-2 record with a 1.81 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage with Carolina's top affiliate in Charlotte. Prior to turning pro, he helped backstop the Boston College Eagles to three Beanpot championships and two NCAA national championships.
