Teuvo Teravainen scored the first and last goal of the night for the Carolina Hurricanes, but it was not enough to stem a 6-5 shootout loss to the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night.
Teravainen’s first goal of the contest came at the 19:22 minute mark of the first and it tied the game at the time. His second goal was scored at 9:21 and lifted the Canes to a two-point advantage, but he was answered by Nick Ritchie and Corey Perry. This pair of goals snapped an eight-game span in which he failed to score a single point. His last goal came nine games ago on November 18th, so players could be forgiven if he was not on their roster. Dec 8 - 2:06 AM

Date:

Teuvo Teravainen will shift to center on Tuesday night.

He has played in the middle before and will fill in for injured center Jordan Staal against the New York Rangers. Teravainen is projected to play between Sebastian Aho and Lee Stempniak.
Nov 29 - 5:47 PM

Teuvo Teravainen had a goal and three assists Saturday.

The forward who was dealt from Chicago in the off-season, has been coming on of late as he found the back of the net Thursday after a seven game pointless streak. He now has four goals and eight points in 14 games and we can start recommending him in deeper leagues.
Nov 13 - 6:50 AM

Teuvo Teravainen ended a seven-game point slump Thursday night.

He scored his third goal of the season and accounted for two shots against Anaheim. Teravainen has four points in his first 13 games with the Hurricanes.
Nov 12 - 8:13 AM

Teuvo Teravainen has seen his playing time go down in the shift from Chicago to Carolina so far.

We're still early into the 2016-17 campaign, but that's the opposite of what we thought would happen. Rather than get a bigger role with Carolina after being acquired by the Hurricanes, Teravainen is averaging 14:22 minutes per game, down from 15:21 in 2015-16. He has two goals, an assist, and a minus-five rating in nine contests this season.
Nov 3 - 9:03 AM

With training camp underway, Teuvo Teravainen is getting a chance to adjust to working with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Teravainen was taken by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and won the Stanley Cup with them in 2015. He was seeing his role with the franchise steadily grow, but Chicago dealt him to Carolina over the summer. "That’s a great team and when you make that team you know you are a good player," Teravainen said Monday. "It’s really tough to make the top two lines and be a difference-maker. Everything is new for me now. It’s a fresh start, and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s a good chance to take the next step and be a difference-maker here." He should play a sizable role with the Hurricanes and that could set him up for a 50-60 point campaign, but just keep in mind that he's still a significant risk.
Sep 27 - 5:17 AM

Carolina GM Ron Francis is excited to have Teuvo Teravainen join the Hurricanes.

"It's not often a player who was a first-round draft pick like Teuvo, at his age and with his skill, becomes available in a deal," said Francis. "We think he will be a very good addition, skill-wise, to our team. He has a lot of upside." Teravainen should be expected to skate on one of Carolina's top-two lines in 2016-17.
Jun 15 - 3:56 PM

Teuvo Teravainen has been traded to Carolina.

He was sent to the Hurricanes along with Bryan Bickell in exchange for a second-round pick (50th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in 2017. In 2015-16, Teravainen registered 13 goals and 35 points in 78 games.

Confirming an earlier item, Teuvo Teravainen is "fine" and "ready to go" on Monday night.

Coach Joel Quennville said that Teravainen will play in Game 7 even though he missed the morning skate. The 21-year-old forward has one assist in six games in the series against St. Louis.
Apr 25 - 1:57 PM

Teuvo Teravainen didn't participate in Monday's morning skate, but he is still expected to play in Game 7 versus St. Louis, according to a source.

He reportedly didn't skate because he was receiving some minor treatment. Tomas Fleischmann was on the second line during the session, but he'll probably get bumped down with Teravainen projected to play.
Apr 25 - 1:19 PM

Teuvo Teravainen is finally on the score board.

Teravainen picked up the first point of this postseason when he assisted on Artem Anisimov's goal in the first period of Thursday's Game 5 victory. Through 23 career playoff games, the youngster Teravainen now has 11 points.
Apr 22 - 2:19 AM

Teuvo Teravainen logged just 9:43 of ice time in Game 3 on Sunday afternoon.

He posted three shots on goal in the contest, but is still looking for his first point in Chicago's first-round series against St. Louis. Teravainen saw only 7:24 of playing time in Game 2
Apr 18 - 11:00 AM

Teuvo Teravainen filled in for Artem Anisimov on Chicago's second line Sunday against Vancouver.

Anisimov missed the game due to a lower-body injury, so Teravainen was slotted between Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin. Teravainen scored his 13th goal of the season in a 3-2 win. Anisimov isn't expected to be sidelined for long, so this promotion could be short-lived, but it will give him a boost for however long it lasts.
Mar 28 - 11:41 AM

Teuvo Teravainen (illness) is on the ice warming up for Friday's match with the Jets.

If he's healthy enough to take warm-ups, then he's nearly guaranteed to be healthy enough to play as well. Teravainen was seen centering Tomas Fleischmann and Dale Weise on the team's third line.
Mar 18 - 7:51 PM

Teuvo Teravainen might miss Friday's contest due to an illness.

Teravainen was questionable on Wednesday too because he was sick, but he ended up participating in that contest. It's not clear if this is a separate issue or if he never got over the first bug.
