Teuvo Teravainen registered a goal and a helper in a 6-1 win against Arizona on Tuesday night.
It was the multi-point outing of his young NHL career. Teravainen has two goals, one assist and 19 shots in seven matches with the Blackhawks this year after he didn't earn a point in three appearances with the big club last season. Jan 21 - 10:07 AM

It looks as if Teuvo Teravainen is starting to get comfortable playing in the NHL.

At least according to his coach Joel Quenneville. "He had some chances tonight, and I think three games in a row he had some good quality stuff, and he had the puck in some nice areas," Quenneville said. "Nice to see him get the first one there. I think he'll be better and more comfortable in the scoring areas, as well." We have been touting Teravainen for some time based on his immense talent. Now he may be getting the opportunity. Watch him carefully this week and if he continues to play well, pick him up if you are in a dynasty league.

Teuvo Teravainen scored his first NHL goal in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Teravainen's third period goal cut the Jets' lead to 3-2. The 20-year-old beat Jets' goalie Michael Hutchinson with a nice wrist shot after Michal Rozsival forced a turnover deep in Winnipeg territory. Many people have been waiting for Teravainen to get a real shot with the Hawks. It's difficult to say if he has arrived for good, but it's unlikely he will produce enough to be relevant in standard fantasy leagues this season. Adding him in your dynasty league makes more sense.
Jan 17 - 12:35 AM

Teuvo Teravainen will indeed center the Blackhawks' third line between Bryan Bickell and Andrew Shaw Friday night in Edmonton.

Bickell and Shaw have combined for 14 goals and 28 points with 49 PIMs and 165 hits. Teravainen meanwhile had six goals and 23 points himself for AHL Rockford, so this line just doesn't seem fair. And Toews, Kane and Sharp aren't even on the line.
Jan 9 - 7:33 PM

Teuvo Teravainen was scratched Thursday as a "coach's decision."

He didn't record a point and had four shots in two games before heading to the press box. Daniel Carcillo got back into the lineup in his place.
Jan 9 - 11:07 AM

Teuvo Teravainen was made a late scratch Thursday against the Minnesota Wild.

No reasoning has been leaked just yet but it is not suspected that the young phenom is in danger of missing significant time.
Jan 8 - 7:39 PM

Teuvo Teravainen is expected center Patrick Sharp and Andrew Shaw on their third line against the Wild on Thursday night.

If Teravainen is even half as good as he's hyped up to be, that's just not fair. All three players are worth having in a diverse array of league settings. Load up.
Jan 8 - 7:16 PM

Teuvo Teravainen is expected to center the Blackhawks' fourth line with Joakim Nordstrom to the left and Ben Smith to the right.

Teravainen could be the best centerman either ever play next two as neither hold any fantasy value.
Jan 4 - 7:19 PM

Teuvo Teravainen is excited to be back with the Blackhawks.

Teravainen was recalled from the minors because of the injury suffered by Kris Versteeg. "I’m really excited," Teravainen said. "It’s good to be back here. It’s been my goal to be here this year and I’ve been working so hard all summer and now in the season and I’m happy to be here." The young Finnish forward has spent the majority of the season with the Rockford IceHogs where he has six goals and 17 assists in 33 games.

It looks the Chicago Blackhawks are starting off much-hyped young prospect Teuvo Teravainen on a fourth line with Ben Smith and Dan Carcillo.

It sounds like Joakim Nordstrom is also getting in the mix every now and then on that fourth line. The 20-year-old has six goals and 23 points in 33 games with the AHL's Rockford Hogs. As skilled as he seems, it might be best to wait and make sure that he gets a plum assignment, and fourth-line duty might not do the job.

For those of you who are euphoric about Teuvo Teravainen's call up Friday, you may have to temper your enthusiasm.

Thoughts of Teravianen playing alongside Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews are premature. He was skating alongside Daniel Carcillo and Ben Smith on the Hawks' fourth line. We all love Teravianen's talent and potential. It might just be a little early to annoint him as the "next one".
Jan 3 - 12:44 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks have brought up top prospect Teuvo Teravainen.

Teravainen is spending this season adjusting to North American hockey and has six goals and 23 points in 37 AHL games. The Blackhawks lost Kris Versteeg to a hand injury on Thursday and it wouldn't surprise us if Teravainen simply assumes much of his duties. That would translate to Teravainen playing on a line with Brad Richards and Patrick Kane.
Jan 2 - 5:56 PM

Teuvo Teravainen is trying to make the most of his time in the AHL, but he doesn't sound happy to be there.

"I don't know if I'm happy or if I'm not happy," Teravainen said. "I'm just trying to play. It's pretty hard playing here. It's different hockey. It's not my type of hockey maybe, AHL hockey. I think there's differences with NHL hockey and AHL hockey, but I'm just trying to do my job there and try to play my best." Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman admitted that it can be harder to play in the minors, especially for young players "because it's a bit more scattered" than the NHL. Teravainen has two goals and 10 points in 17 games with Rockford this campaign.

With injuries to Patrick Sharp and Andrew Shaw it was reasonable to assume that top prospect Teuvo Teravainen might get a call up from Rockford of the AHL.

The Blackhawks are obviously thinking otherwise. They have called up Philip Danault and Joakim Nordstrom instead, neither of whom has Teravianen's potential. Teravainen hasn't been lights out with the IceDogs (10 points in 15 games) which might be part of the reason he was not summoned. It is disappointing for Teravainen owners just the same.

Teuvo Teravainen won't be called up as a replacement for the injured Kris Versteeg.

Versteeg will be out for three weeks due to a lower-body problem. The reason why the Blackhawks are still passing on Teravainen is because they want him to play as a center and they currently have enough depth at that position. So perhaps they would have summoned him if one of their centers had gotten hurt instead.
