Teuvo Teravainen had excellent timing for his first career NHL playoff goal, tallying what proved to be the game-winner in Chicago's 4-3 Game One win over Minnesota.

Teravainen picked off a Minnesota clearing attempt along the left wall by the top of the circle and without hesitation, through a quick wrister to the far post and in. It was a beauty of a play, if only for his situational awareness.

Teuvo Teravainen hopes to stay on a line with Patrick Sharp and Antoine Vermette when the second round starts against Minnesota on Friday night.

He played in the first two games of the opening round, but was a healthy scratch for the rest of the series after a lackluster Game 2. The 20-year-old forward is learning on the fly and he feels he's already gained some valuable experience.

Apr 15 - 4:33 PM

Despite skating on the Blackhawks' fourth line, Teuvo Teravainen is making his presence felt.

Teravainen is playing well both offensively and defensively on the unit alongside Marcus Kruger and Andrew Desjardins. The line was in on two of the Hawks' three goals in the team's 3-1 playoff-clinching victory over Vancouver Thursday night and Teravainen was instrumental in creating the scoring chances. "That was a great play by Teuvo, forcing that turnover and that's how I got the breakaway," Kruger said. "I was happy to score there on Eddie [Lack]. That doesn't happen too often, so nice to see that go in." If Teravaianen continues to develop there is a chance he could move up to the top nine or six next season, That would make him fantasy relevant.

Teravainen is just 20-years-old and the future remains bright despite his benching versus the Flyers. Mar 25 - 7:48 PM

Teuvo Teravainen and Dan Carcillo will be scratched against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night.

Teravainen has three goals and five points through 18 games this season for the Blackhawks, which doesn't quite match the hype that came with the young phenom. It's beginning to seem more and more likely that his talent is not quite ready to blossom at the NHL level. Carcillo meanwhile has played just once since Feb. 13th, and has produced just eight points, 36 hits, and 49 PIMs in 37 games this season.
