Apr 3 - 5:05 PM

Derrick Pouliot will be in the Pittsburgh lineup Sunday.

Pouliot will draw into the lineup as Brian Dumoulin suffered an upper body injury Saturday and wll be unable to go. Pouliot is an offensive defenseman who was drafted eighth overall in 2012. He has Kris Letang ahead of him so his power play time will be limited to the second unit at best. He has only six assists this season in 18 games so his fantasy value is negligible thus far.

Through the first 52 games of his NHL career, 18 of which have come this season, Pouliot has posted 11 assists, 13 points, 30 hits, and 32 blocks. It does not appear that the 22-year-old has blossomed just yet.

Derrick Pouliot will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against St. Louis.

Derrick Pouliot has been summoned from the minors by Pittsburgh.

He has six goals and 23 points in 37 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL this campaign. Pouliot played in 34 matches with the big club last year, but he hasn't played in the NHL yet in 2015-16.
Jan 18 - 4:16 PM

If David Warsofsky or Kris Letang are too hurt to play Monday against the Blues, Derrick Pouliot will be recalled to pick up some NHL experience.

In 68 career games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pouliot has posted 13 goals and 47 points split nearly evenly across his two seasons. The 22-year-old is very exciting and it's just a matter of time before he makes a home for himself in Pittsburgh.
Jan 17 - 8:03 PM

Do not be surprised if Derrick Pouliot is recalled shortly.

Pouliot had seven points in 34 games in the NHL last season but has played this season in the minors getting in some much needed experience. He has six goals and 23 points in 37 games this season with the Baby Pens in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a plus-16 rating. He has a lot of offensive potential and should be looked at, especially in keeper leagues, once he is recalled.
Jan 17 - 8:43 AM

Derrick Pouliot scored once and added two assists to lead Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 5-0 win over Springfield.

Pouliot had a weak training camp and was sent to the minors to the surprise of many who thought that the offensive talent of the defenseman was enough to keep him in the NHL. He now has a goal and five points in five games and could get the recall soon if the Penguins pick up any injuries on the blueline.
