Date:

Pontus Aberg and Adam Pardy will be scratched against the Flyers on Sunday.

Pardy still waits to make his season debut. Through the first nine games of his NHL career, Aberg has just two points. Neither provide much fantasy value, unfortunately.
Dec 4 - 5:40 PM

Pontus Aberg should be in the lineup on Thursday night.

He will apparently take the place of Cody Bass in the lineup against the Ottawa Senators. Aberg has one assist in two games with Nashville this year.
Nov 17 - 6:46 PM

Pontus Aberg and Matt Carle will be scratched against the Ducks on Saturday night.

Aberg has stepped it up this season for AHL Milwaukee, scoring five goals and nine points in nine games. Well ahead of his usual pace. Still just 23-years-old, perhaps this could be the start of his ascent. Once he returns to the lineup, of course.
Nov 12 - 5:51 PM

Pontus Aberg has been summoned from the minors by Nashville.

He has registered five goals and nine points in nine games for Milwaukee of the AHL this campaign. Aberg saw his first NHL action last year during the playoffs when he played in two contests.
Nov 8 - 11:40 AM

Pontus Aberg skated alongside Calle Jarnkrok and Viktor Arvidsson for most of his NHL debut.

He was given the chance to play in Game 3 versus San Jose after coach Peter Laviolette decided to scratch veteran center Mike Ribeiro. "Pontus came in and gave us some good speed," Laviolette said. "He was a good player for Milwaukee down the stretch. He brings speed and skill. This is a fast game right now against San Jose." He had two hits in 8:27 of ice time.
May 4 - 10:46 AM

Pontus Aberg might make his NHL debut on Tuesday night in Game 3 against San Jose.

He participated in the morning skate alongside Filip Forsberg and Mike Ribeiro. Aberg could be in the lineup because Craig Smith is questionable due to a lower-body injury.
May 3 - 4:18 PM

Pontus Aberg has been called up from AHL Milwaukee.

Aberg had 25 goals and 40 points in 74 AHL games in 2015-16. The 22-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut yet.
Apr 29 - 4:48 PM

The Nashville Predators have assigned Pontus Aberg to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Aberg scored two goals in Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Despite being sent down, Predators head coach Peter Laviolette was impressed with the 21-year-old’s play in camp. "He can make plays, he can find holes, he can shoot the puck and he’s young," said Laviolette. "But it was a good camp for him and a noticeable camp for him." The young Swede is in his first season in North America, and will have to adjust to the smaller ice rinks before he gets to contribute at the NHL level.

The Predators received scoring contributions from several young players Saturday night, with Pontus Aberg scoring twice.

Aberg, the team’s second-round pick in the 2012 draft, had 15 goals and 31 points in the Swedish Hockey League last year. Kevin Fiala, the Preds’ first-rounder from the 2014 draft, also scored. Austin Watson potted the final goal via the empty net. Pekka Rinne made 22 saves on 23 shots in the full game.

Pontus Aberg has agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal with the Nashville Predators.

Aberg had 15 goals and 16 assists in 52 Swedish games in 2013-14. The Predators took him with the 37th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Pontus Aberg has been selected with the 37th overall pick by the Nashville Predators.

The third of the talented trio of Swedish forwards, Aberg receives much less hype than the other two (Forsberg and Collberg), but may be just as talented. As an 18 year old, Aberg played in the Swedish professional league, and demonstrated that he can already be a reliable contributor at that level, skating with the club’s second line. He is considered a future offensive force who can fly around the rink. He relies on his heavy shot, but also can find the open man. Aberg tends to chase the puck in his own zone rather than hold his position. He can be overly physical at times and should tone down his aggressiveness. He is under contract for two more seasons with Djurgarden, so Predators fans shouldn't expect to see him in their lineup anytime soon.
