Oscar Dansk stepped up in the 2014 Traverse City rookie tournament.
Dansk had a 2.40 GAA and .925 save percentage to help Columbus win the tournament. We don't want to read too much into prospect games, but it's still a positive for him after he struggled in this tournament last year. Sep 17 - 7:56 AM

Oscar Dansk was outstanding as he turned aside 31 shots in a 5-3 Columbus win over Detroit at Traverse City.

The Blue Jackets are quite high on Dansk who was the first pick of the second round in the 2012 Draft but many thought he was the top goalie available. Dansk came across the pond from Sweden last season and played 42 games with Erie of the OHL where he was 29-9-1 with a 2.39 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Look for the 20-year-old to get his feet wet as a professional this season in the minors.

Columbus has reached a three-year, entry-level contract with Oscar Dansk.

In 42 games this past season with the OHL's Erie Otters, he posted a 29-9-1 record to go with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. Dansk was chosen in the second round (31st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Blue Jackets.

Oscar Dansk made 26 saves in a 2-1 win over Russia to get Sweden into the gold-medal game of the World Junior Championship.

Nashville's Filip Forsberg and Pittsburgh prospect Oskar Sundqvist scored for the Swedes in the victory. Forsberg leads the team with 12 points in six contests.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have sent goaltender Oscar Dansk back to the Erie Otters of the OHL.

It's no surprise as Dansk needs plenty of playing time. He was selected with the first pick of the second round in the 2012 Draft and the Blue Jackets are looking at him as their goalie of the future. He struggled last season with a 4.11 GAA and a .888 save percentage but it was his first year in North America after coming over from Sweden so he gets a mulligan.

Oscar Dansk kicked out 21 of 23 shots as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the New York Rangers at the NHL Prospects Tournament Sunday.

Dansk was very spotty in the first two games of the tournament as he managed to give up eight goals on only 40 shots. The Swedish netminder played with the Erie Otters of the AHL last season but struggled with a 4.11 GAA and a .888 save percentage. He was drafted with the first pick of the second round in 2012 and many scouts thought he was the best goalie available despite being the third netminder taken, behind Andrei Vasilevski (Tampa Bay) and Malcolm Subban (Boston). But he was much better in leading the Blue Jackets to the win on Sunday. He is still highly regarded but with Sergei Bobrovsky ahead of him in Columbus, it may be a few years until Dansk is in a Columbus uniform during a regular season game.

Oscar Dansk hopes his rough 2012-13 campaign with the OHL Erie Otters will help him going forward.

Dansk had a 4.11 GAA and .888 save percentage in 43 games after being taken with the 31st overall pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012. "It was motivation, for sure, all of that," Dansk said of last season's struggles. "I really got into working out quickly after the season ended. I had a lot of thinking time, too. I have a positive outlook this season. I think we're going to be a better team. We have an older group, a group that's been together."

Oscar Dansk turned aside 30 of 32 shots in the Erie Otters' 2-1 loss to the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday.

Dansk has a 3.64 GAA and .905 save percentage in 25 OHL games this season and he's winless in his last six starts. The Columbus Blue Jackets took him with the 31st overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Goaltending prospect Oscar Dansk has two sprained knees and has been ordered to stay off the ice for two-three weeks.

Dank was selected 31st overall in this year's draft and the native of Sweden is going to play for the Erie Otters of the OHL when he is healthy. He will likely miss the start of the season due to his injury which occurred last month during an evaluation camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. The Blue Jackets are high on the young netminder but he is still at least a few years away from having any fantasy value in the NHL.

Oscar Dansk was in Columbus on Wednesday to visit with team doctors to determine if he needs knee surgery.

He sustained the injury last month at an evaluation camp in Lake Placid, N.Y and is slated to play with Erie in the OHL this season. Dansk was selected 31st overall in the 2012 draft by the Blue Jackets.

Columbus prospect Oscar Dansk will play in the OHL with the Erie Otters this season.

The Otters signed the second-round draft pick of the Blue Jackets on Monday after he spent the 2011-12 campaign with Brynas Jr. of Sweden's second division. He recorded a 2.82 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in 28 games.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are very happy with their selection of goaltender Oscar Dansk in last month's Entry Draft.

Dansk was selected with the first pick of the second round, 31st overall. "He has a tremendous calmness in the game," goaltender coach Ian Clark said. "He’s able to make those saves that other goalies find difficult, those saves where you have to work outside your main toolbox to find ways to make those difficult saves." Dansk was ranked among the top three goalies in the NHL draft. The Swedish netminder has had some North American experience as he attended the famed Shattuck St. Mary's Hockey School in Minnesota for two years. He is still a few years away as the Blue Jackets do not want to rush him, but he is looking like Columbus's goalie of the future. Grab him in keeper leagues if your pool is very very deep.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have taken Oscar Dansk with the 31st overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Likely the most experienced goaltender in the draft, Dansk is a quick, butterfly-style goalie with fast reflexes and the ability to make difficult saves. Scouts are pleased with Dansk’s experience, since he attended Shattuck St. Mary’s Hockey School in Minnesota for two seasons before moving back to Sweden to join the Brynas program. Dansk makes quick lateral movements in the crease and gets in and out of the butterfly well. He is perhaps the strongest stickhandler in the goalie class, with the ability to retrieve pucks and jumpstart rushes with the stretch pass. He should continue improving his rebound control and discipline in the crease because he tends to drop to his pads too quickly. With further development, he might develop into the starting goaltender that the Blue Jackets crave.
