Scott Kosmachuk allowed his emotions to get the better of him following Sunday's loss to Edmonton in the Memorial Cup final.

Guelph lost the Edmonton Oil Kings by a score of 6-3 after coasting through the round robin. Kosmachuk smashed his stick to bits and didn't speak to the media after the loss. He had a productive tournament, with three goals and two assists in four contests. The 20-year-old Winnipeg Jets prospect is expected to play in the AHL with the St. John's IceCaps next year, as he begins his professional career. "Scott earned a 100-point season and he's continued to get better as a player," said Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. "He's proven to be a consistent scorer and he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He's progressing well."

The Winnipeg Jets took Scott Kosmachuk with the 70th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Kosmachuk is one of the tougher prospects out of the OHL this year. While not physically intimidating, he likes getting under the skin of his opponents. He recorded 110 penalty minutes this season, a testament to his aggressive play. Surprisingly, he has a ton of offensive skill, scoring 30 goals in 67 games for Guelph. He has good hands around the net and holds a blistering slap shot. He did have some consistency problems this year, which will need to be addressed as he progresses. There are also some concerns with his carelessness in the defensive zone. Still, he's a nice player to be able to grab in the third round.
