"Coming into his pro career, he wasn't used to the pro style, wasn't used to not playing with the puck," Martin said. He spent some time in the ECHL over the previous two seasons and it helped him improve his game. "Marty is a rink rat, wants to get better at his craft," Martin said. "He put in the time to get better. He really responded to Todd Nelson's style. He's very confident in his play." In 2015-16 there was no trip to the ECHL and Frk picked up 27 goals, with 44 points, in 67 games. He won't be waiver-exempt, so the Wings will have to decide what to do with him.
