Nicolas Kerdiles is thrilled to be at rookie camp for the Anaheim Ducks.

Kerdiles spent two years at the University of Wisconsin after being drafted in the second round of the 2012 Draft. He is projected to be a power forward but will likely need some time honing his skills in the minors. "I’m excited," Kerdiles said. "I'm used to the conditioning camp and playing with the younger guys. To get my opportunity with the guys that are actually on the team and kind of fight for a spot is going to be a real fun position for me. You get an opportunity in training camp and you try to make the best of it and then hopefully you get to wear that jersey one day and play a regular-season NHL game."

Nicolas Kerdiles is looking forward to getting a chance to play with the Anaheim Ducks.

He was born in Texas, but considers the Ducks his hometown team after his family moved to Irvine, California when he was six years of age. Kerdiles played his last two seasons with the University of Wisconsin, but he ended the 2013-14 campaign in the AHL with Norfolk. He wants to put himself on the radar of the Anaheim brass even though he doesn't think he's particularly close to becoming an NHLer. "I know it's far-fetched," he said. "I only played 16 pro hockey games with Norfolk. I'm going to keep pushing and hopefully just try to impress them."
