The Leafs have reassigned Eric Faille, T.J. Foster, Justin Holl, Justin Johnson, Max Nicastro, Jack Rodewald, Matt Rupert, Ryan Rupert, Nikolai Skladnichenko and Brady Vail to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. The sixth-round pick of the Maple Leafs in the 2012 draft has 24 points and 52 penalty minutes in 28 games this season, but he has just four goals. 2013 draft eligible prospect Bo Horvat scored two markers in the match to give him 18 on the year.

Ryan Rupert was picked in the sixth round of the 2012 draft by Toronto and his twin brother, Matt, was invited to take part in the Leafs development camp along with him.

The undersized forwards play a feisty and sometimes chippy game that helped the London Knights win the OHL championship this past season. They have learned a great deal from former Washington bench boss Dale Hunter about getting under the skin of their opponents while playing a responsible game. Rupert is not expected to be in the hunt for an NHL job yet, but he could make for a solid bottom-six forward when he's ready to make the jump to the pros.
