Nov 25 - 3:34 PM

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that Charles Hudon will be scratched for their game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.

It will be the first time Hudon is scratched this season after picking up one assist in two games since being recalled from the AHL. Joining him as a healthy scratch is Greg Pateryn. Both Hudon and Pateryn carry no fantasy value.
Nov 22 - 7:11 PM

Charles Hudon registered an assist in Montreal's 3-2 loss to Carolina on Friday night.

He helped set up Jeff Petry's goal in the second period. Hudon was recalled from the minors on Thursday afternoon and ended up making his season debut last night. He skated on the fourth line with Torrey Mitchell and Daniel Carr, but also got some time on the man-advantage. At the time of his recall, Hudon was lighting up in the minors (14 points in 15 games). He definitely has offensive upside, but until he gets more even-strength ice time, he won't be worth adding in standard fantasy leagues.

Hudon has posted nine goals and 14 points in 15 games for AHL St. John's. The 22-year-old has talent, hopefully we'll get to see it flourish in the bigs. He already has two helpers in three games in his NHL career.

Charles Hudon, Greg Pateryn, and Jarred Tinordi will each be scratched Tuesday against the Sharks.

While Hudon has had a nice spree with two helpers in two games, he's not expected to provide a ton of offensive support. Pateryn meanwhile has at least provided 26 hits through just eight games, which indicates he could be a nice stop-gap if one needed to bang some bodies.

Charles Hudon will make his NHL debut in Thursday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Hudon was Montreal's fifth round pick in 2012. The 21-year-old has 10 goals and 20 points in 24 games this season. He'll probably start out by playing more of a bottom-six role, so his fantasy upside will be limited. Hudon will be taking Christian Thomas' place in the lineup.
