The Montreal Canadiens have recalled Charles Hudon from the minors.
Hudon had a very strong rookie season in Hamilton this year, and he's being rewarded with a call up because the Bulldogs didn't make the AHL playoffs. Charles Hudon admitted that he still isn't fully recovered from a back injury that limited him to 56 games with Chicoutimi of the QMJHL last season.

The ailment also prevented him from playing for Team Canada at the world juniors, so he's hoping to get another chance this year. "What happened last year was a very difficult thing for me to deal with – a huge disappointment," Hudon told "It was so hard for me to come back to Canada with nothing hanging around my neck. Right now I'm taking things day by day; employing the same strategy that (Team Canada coach Brent) Sutter is using with our team. Take things one day at a time and don't think about tomorrow." Hudon had 30 goals and 71 points with the Sagueneens in 2012-13. He added three points in nine AHL contests with Hamilton at the end of the season.

Charles Hudon will join the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs on an amateur tryout agreement.

Hudon, who was chosen in the fifth round of the 2012 draft by Montreal, amassed 30 goals and 71 points in 56 games with the QMJHL's Chicoutimi Sagueneens in 2012-13.

Charles Hudon will miss the 2013 World Junior Championship due to a back injury.

Hudon had already been dealing with the ailment for days, but he aggravated it while practicing Friday. He has 18 goals and 36 points in 27 QMJHL games this season. The Montreal Canadiens grabbed him in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Montreal prospect Charles Hudon potted a goal and also registered an assist in Chicoutimi's 4-2 loss to Baie-Comeau Sunday.

The Canadiens' 2012 fifth-round pick is off to another great start this season in the QMJHL. The smallish forward has tremendous offensive ability and a great work ethic. He could be the next David Desharnais.

Hudon also had four penalty minutes for good measure. The Canadiens' 2012 fifth-round pick has seven points this year after a campaign in which he notched 66.

Montreal prospect Charles Hudon was impressive during the Canada-Russia Challenge with one goal and two assists in the four-game series.

He was selected in the fifth round of the 2012 draft, so he could end up being a potential steal down the road if he can crack the team's lineup and continue to produce. Hudon notched 25 goals and added 41 assists in 59 games with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the QMJHL last season.
