Coach Dave Tippett was pleased with the play of Jordan Martinook this past season.
Martinook was a bottom six forward this season but did many things well including killing penalties. "My last meeting with my junior coach, he said, ‘You scored 40 goals but if you make it to the NHL, you’re probably not going to be a 40-goal scorer or even a 30-goal scorer,’" Martinook said. "So you definitely gotta figure out what’s going to keep you in the NHL." Martinook was taken 58th overall in 2012 and had eight goals and 24 points this season but slumped in the second half with only a goal and five points in 31 games. Apr 23 - 6:50 AM
