Nikita Kucherov (lower body) did not play Saturday night as a precaution.

Nikita Kucherov will likely play Saturday night against the Panthers in Tampa's preseason finale.

This is good news as Kucherov left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. Kucherov told reporters he still has a little bit of pain but that the injury is not serious. Don't know why the Bolts would risk playing him in a meaningless exhibition game, but we're not running the Lightning are we?

Bolts coach Jon Cooper said Kucherov might miss Saturday's preseason finale, but doesn't think he will sit out any time in the regular season. Consider the 22-year-old day-to-day.

Nikita Kucherov scored two goals in Friday's 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers.

The goals were Kucherov's first two of the preseason. His goal at the 12:29 mark of the first period opened the scoring in the game and his second goal extended his team's lead to 4-0 in the second frame. The 22-year-old had a coming out party a season ago, where he scored 29 goals and 65 points in 82 games. Kucherov should be able to at least match those numbers in Tampa Bay's high-flying offense. Erik Condra and Matthew Peca also scored for the Lightning in the win.

Nikita Kucherov is in the lineup for Game 6 Monday night when the Lightning look to avoid elimination in Chicago.

Head coach Jon Cooper had listed Kucherov as "probable" for the game during the teams press conferences earlier in the day and the news will hold up for Monday’s game. This is fantastic news for Lightning fans as the triplets line would look very different with Jonathan Drouin replacing Kucherov. Kucherov leads the team with 23 points in 25 games played this postseason and will undoubtedly be a huge factor in deciding whether the Lightning will play a Game 7 or not.

Nikita Kucherov (undisclosed) is considered "probable" to play Monday night in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, according to coach Jon Cooper.

He took part in the morning skate and it didn't look like anything was bothering him. Kucherov missed most of Game 5 after he collided with the goal post, but he appears to be OK to play.

The trio of Kucherov, Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat have combined for 31 of Tampa Bay's 65 postseason goals.

Kucherov left Saturday's game after colliding with the post and he did not return to the game. Cooper added that Kucherov is a possibility for Game 6. He's an important part of the Lightning's offense.

"Kooch is a key part of our lineup," said Lightning winger Ryan Callahan, "and he’s a guy we definitely missed tonight. The margin of error in this series is so small, and we’ve got to step up as a group and find a way to score more goals." Kucherov left the game after crashing into the Blackhawks' goal post and he did not return. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to play in a do-or-die Game 6.

The Tampa Bay Lightning aren't sharing much yet about Nikita Kucherov's status after what looked like an injury in Game 5 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Final.

Kucherov crashed into the Chicago Blackhawks' net during the first period of a 2-1 win for Chicago. He suffered the apparent injury then and did not return. One would speculate that it's neck or shoulder-related, but call it "upper body" for now.

Kucherov has 10 goals and 22 points in 23 playoff games. That's good enough to put him in a tie for second place in the goal scoring race and to hold sole possess of second overall on the points leaderboard.

Nikita Kucherov registered a pair of goals Tuesday night, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Lightning were dumped by the Rangers by a score of 7-3.

Kucherov has now tallied nine times in the postseason, placing him in a tie for second in the NHL with Patrick Kane and Corey Perry. All of the aforementioned players are chasing league leader Tyler Johnson and his 12 playoff markers. Ryan Callahan also found the back of the net for Tampa Bay in the loss.

The goal was Kucherov's second point of the night, his first came off an assist late in the third period giving Tampa a brief 5-4 lead. Kucherov now has points in three of his last four games, including two straight, totaling three goals and eight points during that span. With seven goals and 16 points this postseason, Kucherov sits tied with Corey Perry in postseason points.

Nikita Kucherov tallied twice for the Lightning on Tuesday night as they eliminated Montreal from postseason contention with a 4-1 victory.

Kucherov has now recorded six markers in 13 postseason contests to bring him just two behind league and team leader Tyler Johnson. Ondrej Palat also chipped in a goal and an assist in the dominant win while Steve Stamkos also buried his third of the playoffs.
