He has just one goal and no assists in 16 games this season. Clearly, he won't have any fantasy value going forward. Torrey Mitchell, who the team acquired from Montreal on Thursday, and Nic Dowd will also watch from the press box.

Kurtis MacDermid netted his first career NHL goal on Thursday.

MacDermid was never drafted, but he fought his way into the Kings' lineup at the age of 23. Thursday's game was his fifth career NHL contest. "It’s a lot of work and a lot of time, but it’s all worth it," MacDermid said. "I wouldn’t do it any other way."

Kurtis MacDermid inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

MacDermid had 20 points and 135 penalty minutes in 58 AHL games in 2016-17. If he plays in the NHL next season then he'd come with a $650,000 cap hit.

The LA Kings are expected to assign Kurtis MacDermid back to AHL Ontario.

The 22-year-old drew praise from the Kings "for his development and tenacity", but it looks like brass feels he needs to refine his game just a bit more. MacDermid posted 16 points and 121 PIMs with Ontario last season.

Kurtis MacDermid has inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

MacDermid had two assists in nine OHL games last season. He took part in the Kings' development camp over the summer.
