William Carrier is excited to be part of the Vegas Golden Knights.

"It’ll be a big opportunity to make a statement in camp," Carrier said. "I’ve been used to trying to earn a spot, but everything is going to be new. New city, new rink and all the fans are going to be excited. It should be good." Carrier got his first taste of the NHL in 2016-17 with the Buffalo Sabres as he recorded five goals and eight points in 41 contests. He'll be someone to watch during the Golden Knights' training camp.

William Carrier has been chosen by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft.

The Golden Knights will also get a sixth-round pick from Buffalo for picking Carrier. The Sabres wanted to protect backup goaltender Linus Ullmark, so they added some incentive to take Carrier. He registered eight points in 41 games with Buffalo in 2016-17.
Jun 21 - 8:37 PM

William Carrier is available to the Vegas Golden Knights and it's believed that he will be taken in the expansion draft.

It's being speculated that Sabres GM Jason Botterill has a deal in place to protect backup goaltender Linus Ullmark, so Buffalo exposed Carrier to be selected rather than oft-injured veteran Tyler Ennis. Carrier skated in 41 NHL games in 2016-17 and he posted eight points. The 22-year-old has speed and can play a physical game, which could interest Vegas.

William Carrier (knee) may return to action in a week, per coach Dan Byslma.

William Carrier still isn't skating because of a bone bruise in his knee.

"The pain has to dissipate, and he's got to have some healing on the bone," coach Dan Bylsma said. "We'll pretend for a second that you're a golfer, and you take a divot. Every time you move, you continue to take a swing at the same divot over and over and over and over again." Carrier will sit out for 17th time on Tuesday night because of the injury.
