Darnell Nurse is a plus-seven in his last two games.

He has also been a force offensively with a goal and two assists. The defenseman has missed a big chunk of the season with an ankle injury as he was out from December 1 until February 26. Nevertheless, he has four goals and eight points in 33 games with a plus-two rating. Keep an eye on him next season.
Mar 18 - 8:11 AM

Darnell Nurse played in his 100th game on Tuesday.

Nurse would have reached that mark sooner, but he missed nearly three months this season due to an ankle injury. He's also seen his responsibilities fall in 2016-17 as he's averaged 17:35 minutes per game, compared to 20:14 minutes in 2015-16, but he has the potential to play a very big role for the Oilers in the long run.
Mar 8 - 8:54 AM

Darnell Nurse is set to make his long-awaited return to the ice on Sunday against the Predators after missing the last 35 games.

Coach Todd McLellan has noted that he plans to ease the talented defender into the lineup, which means his minutes and matchups will be highly selected for. Be that as it may, you've got to start somewhere and this is as fine a place as any. Through 25 games this season he has three goals and five points along with 17 PIMs, 25 blocks and 60 blocks.
Feb 26 - 4:39 PM

Darnell Nurse is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's match with the Predators.

Coach Todd McLellan likely wants to see the youngster put in some time on the ice first, so don't be surprised if he sits out another game or two as a healthy scratch. We'll keep you posted.

Darnell Nurse (ankle) might make his return on Friday or Sunday.

As previously reported, Nurse will miss Edmonton's games on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the fact that he might return shortly after that is encouraging. He hasn't played since Dec. 1, so getting into the swing of things during the final push might be an issue, but Nurse is optimistic about that. "It’s a tough time to come back because everybody’s pushing and teams are going full steam, but it’s not like I haven’t played in the league before or I’ve been out all year. Way I look at it is I’ll be fresh, I can bring some legs and energy," said Nurse.

Darnell Nurse (ankle) will miss Tuesday and Wednesday's games.

Nurse hasn't played since Dec. 1. He should be getting close though, especially after he resumed practicing about a week ago.
Feb 20 - 1:48 PM

After skating on his own for the last two weeks, Darnell Nurse has joined the Oilers for a full practice.

"It’s nice to be out there with the guys and getting back up to pace," Nurse said. It's been eight weeks since his original 12-week diagnosis, and there's an outside shot where he may beat that timeline. "That being said, there is still a lot of work to be done to get back to playing shape and be a difference maker night in and night out." Stay patient, Oilers fans.
Feb 12 - 6:21 PM

Unfortunately, Darnell Nurse is not yet ready to return from his ankle injury.

He was projected to need 12 weeks to recover from surgery, which was back in the second week of December. Which means that Nurse may not return for a few more weeks.
Feb 10 - 8:14 PM

Darnell Nurse (ankle) skated on his own prior to Monday's practice.

Nurse is still probably more than a month away from returning, so don't get excited yet. He has three goals and five points in 25 games this season.
Jan 31 - 4:26 AM

Darnell Nurse is projected to miss up to 12 weeks after he had surgery on his ankle.

He underwent a procedure to repair ligament and bone damage. Nurse hasn't played since Dec. 1. He has five points and 17 penalty minutes in 25 games this campaign.

The Edmonton Oilers will provide an update on the lower body injury suffered by Darnell Nurse Monday.

It is thought that the injury was to his ankle and possibly a high ankle sprain. If so, Nurse will likely still be out of action for at least another month but more will be known later today. He has five points this season and has already been out 10 days. Stay tuned.

Darnell Nurse will be lost to the Oilers "long-term" due to a lower body injury.

Well that's not good news. In his second full season in the bigs, the 21-year-old was blossoming well. Nurse posted five points along with 17 PIMs, 25 blocks, and 60 hits.
