Aleksander Barkov's return to the lineup from a broken bone in his hand has resulted in plenty of offense for Florida's top line.

Barkov has played in three games since getting back from a 10-game absence and the top trio, with Jaromir Jagr and Jonathan Huberdeau, has combined for three goals, five assists and 23 shots. Barkov has nine points in 10 games this season.
Nov 23 - 10:33 AM

Aleksander Barkov got a goal and an assist in the Panthers’ 5-4 overtime loss to the Rangers on Saturday night.

With five goals and nine points in 10 games, it might not look like it now, but Barkov could end up being a major fantasy asset this season as he breaks out. It’s crazy to think he is only 20 years old. Barkov is a key for the Panthers' playoff hopes. Jussi Jokinen (goal, assist), Nick Bjugstad and Jaromir Jagr got the other goals.
Nov 21 - 10:58 PM

Aleksander Barkov scored Florida's only goal on Thursday night as the Panthers fell 3-1 to the Anaheim Ducks.

Barkov snapped a three game pointless slump and now has seven points in nine games so far this season.
Nov 20 - 1:15 AM

Aleksander Barkov is expected to resume his first line center role Monday against Tampa Bay.

Barkov, who has three goals and six points in seven games this season, will center Jaromir Jagr and Jonathan Huberdeau once again.
Nov 15 - 2:16 PM

Aleksander Barkov (hand) could return to action on Monday night.

Barkov skated with the Panthers prior to Saturday's win over Tampa Bay, but he was still held out. The 20-year-old broke a bone in his hand on Oct. 22 and has missed 10 straight games because of the injury.
Nov 15 - 12:33 PM

Aleksander Barkov got through Friday's full practice without any problems and is on the verge of a return to action.

The talented center has missed the past three weeks with a broken hand but could be back in the Florida lineup as early as Monday when the Panthers play their home game of their back-to-back series against the Lightning. Barkov won't play Saturday night, but he should be activated for next week's games.
Nov 14 - 9:51 AM

Aleksander Barkov (hand) participated fully in Thursday's morning skate.

"I feel good and hope to be back as soon as possible," said Barkov following his first session with his teammates since he suffered a broken hand on Oct. 22. "I hate missing games and it's tough to watch your own team play. I just try to learn watching the games. It's getting better every day." An exact timetable for his return is unclear, but he is making encouraging progress.
Nov 13 - 8:50 AM

Aleksander Barkov (hand) is expected to return to practice Thursday.

"He's real good," coach Gerard Gallant said. "Not to get too far ahead, but everything is on schedule. They said 3-4 weeks and it will be three weeks [Thursday]. It will be day-to-day after that. I can't say he'll play this weekend or next weekend, but things are looking good. It will be nice to have him out there." Barkov hasn't played since Oct. 22 because of a broken bone in his hand.
Nov 12 - 8:21 AM

Aleksander Barkov (hand) is progressing nicely, according to coach Gerard Gallant, and could return soon.

"He's seeing the doctor tonight and they'll probably do some X-rays or some kind of a scan and they'll know a lot more tonight, but everything looks good," Gallant said. "He says he feels real good, so it's probably a lot closer." He will miss his eighth straight game Tuesday with a broken bone in his hand.
Nov 10 - 3:22 PM

Aleksander Barkov has been placed on injured reserve, stimulating the recall of Rocco Grimaldi from the AHL

The move was specifically made to clear a roster spot for the prospect Grimaldi, who over his last 69 AHL games has 14 goals and 45 points. Barkov meanwhile will still miss at least a few more weeks.
Oct 31 - 6:30 PM

Aleksander Barkov (hand) is expected to be out of action for two-to-four weeks.

Thankfully, he will not require surgery on a broken bone in his hand. Barkov will be able to return once he has enough strength to grip his stick and shoot the puck without a problem.
Oct 26 - 1:21 PM

Aleksander Barkov will see a hand specialist Monday.

He blocked a shot between his thumb/forefinger last Thursday and wasn't able to play Saturday as a result. Barkov was replaced on the top line by Nick Bjugstad, who had two goals against Dallas.
Oct 26 - 12:20 PM

While there still isn't a precise timetable for Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov, word is that he's suffered a broken hand.

Brutal blow for the Panthers, as Barkov was really cooking with Jonathan Huberdeau and Jaromir Jagr. Barkov was a bold draft pick ahead of Seth Jones, yet he was really starting to show his value as a big, talented forward. That will be place on pause for some time, likely at least for a couple weeks.

Coach Gallant has already announced that Aleksander Barkov won't play on Saturday for the Panthers.

Barkov will "likely see the doctors on Monday", which therefore puts his playing on Tuesday against the Avalanche in question. Barkov ranks second only to Jaromir Jagr on the team in both goals and points, by just a pair each. Hopefully the young center's wrist is okay.
