The Bruins are hoping Seth Griffith will be a more consistent player going forward.
"I think with Seth, he came in a couple years ago and had a bit of a stint, and you know he did okay. But I think from him probably consistency is what I’m hearing. I don’t see him playing all the time in Providence. All I can rely on a little bit is what he’s done here. And you know he came up for a few games this year; we didn’t quite see enough so he ended up going back," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "He’s had some good spurts there in Providence is what I’m being told. Consistency is probably what you want from Griff." Griffith was excellent overall though with 24 goals and 77 points in 57 AHL contests. With the Boston Bruins he added an assist in four games. Jun 3 - 8:45 AM

He was injured in Sunday's preseason opener against New Jersey. Griffith split time in NHL and the AHL last season. Seth Griffith left Sunday's exhibition game against New Jersey because of a lower-body injury.

The Bruins have already announced that he won't be returning to the game. It's unclear how severe the injury is. Even if it is minor, there's no point in pushing him in the first game of the pre-season.

Seth Griffith scored two goals and added an assist in Providence's 5-4 win over Worcester Friday night.

Griffith, who was demoted to the AHL when David Pastrnak was summoned to Boston, has been playing excellent hockey for the Baby Bruins. He has scored five goals and registered 11 points in 10 games. If Pastrnak hits the wall, or if one of the Bruin forwards suffer an injury, Griffith will certainly be back in Beantown.

Seth Griffith seems to have found a spot on the Bruins' top line alongside David Krejci and Milan Lucic.

Griffith has had some stints on the top unit earlier this season, but it seems that as of late, he has really meshed with Krejci and Lucic and might have a longer opportunity to skate with two of Boston's best players. Although Griffith does not have a scorer's pedigree, he should get goals and points by association making him a viable fantasy acquisition.

He struck on the power play to give Boston a 4-2 lead in the third period. Griffith hadn't earned a point in his previous 10 appearances. He played with Matt Lindblad and Craig Cunningham on Boston's fourth line.
