Elias Lindholm left Thursday's match with Boston due to a lower body injury.

The talented winger skated 13:17 without registering anything on the stat sheet. He is considered day-to-day for now and we will keep you posted on his status as it develops.
Dec 1 - 9:41 PM

Elias Lindholm may take over Jordan Staal's place at center.

Staal is out indefinitely after suffering a concussion Sunday and Lindholm and Teuvo Teravainen look to be coach Bill Peters two choices to move to the middle. Lindholm got off to his usual horrible start but has a couple of goals in his last four games and now has seven points in 21 contests.
Nov 29 - 6:57 AM

Elias Lindholm scored Carolina's only goal in their 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

Lindholm came into Montreal's zone down the right side and beat Carey Price with a perfect top corner shot. The Canes forward has just two goals this season, but they've both come in the last three games, which may be a good sign for his fantasy stock. The 22-year-old has seven points in 19 games in 2016-17.
Nov 24 - 10:56 PM

Elias Lindholm finally scored his first of the season Sunday.

Lindholm had yet to find the back of the net in his previous 16 contests as the fourth year NHLer who was drafted fifth overall in 2013 seemed to be snakebitten. But he finally potted his first in a win over Winnipeg. "I didn’t really believe it at first," Lindholm said, smiling. "Then I saw the crowd standing and cheering. It was nice to see it go in." Despite his very slow start, Lindholm is going to break out one day so perhaps it is best to stash him for now.
Nov 21 - 7:24 AM

Elias Lindholm hasn't found the back of the net yet this season.

Lindholm has played in 14 games so far and has taken 29 shots on goal. In addition to being unable to find the back of the net thus far, he has a minus-eight rating and has been limited to three assists. "I’m here to produce," he said. "I should be up there for our team and help us win games. It’s kind of frustrating, and especially now when we’ve lost some games in the beginning. You feel like you haven’t scored, and you feel you could have been the difference in games if I just put one in." On the plus side, Lindholm does have a 53.5% success rate on the draw along with 12 blocks and 11 takeaways.
Nov 15 - 10:23 AM

Elias Lindholm is slated to play with Victor Rask and Jeff Skinner on Tuesday night.

It's been a tough start to the season for Lindholm, who has no goals and two assists in 11 games. He has racked up 25 shots, but he has been unable to break through thus far. Playing with top producers Rask and Skinner could get him going.
Nov 8 - 4:12 PM

Elias Lindholm registered an assist in Carolina's 3-2 shootout victory on Saturday.

Lindholm has no goals and two assists in 10 games this season. There was some hope he might breakout in 2016-17 after posting back-to-back 39 point campaigns, but his slow start dampens that possibility. He's still worth keeping an eye on though.
Nov 6 - 8:50 AM

Elias Lindholm scored a power play goal in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Lindholm's goal gave the 'Canes a 2-0 lead at the 9:50 mark of the second frame. Teuvo Teravainen picked up the only assist. Carolina doesn't have much firepower up front, so they'll count on up and comers like Lindholm to fill the net for them this year. The 21-year-old will look to rebound after seeing his goal output reduced from 17 in his rookie year to 11 in year two. Jeff Skinner scored the game-winning goal in the shootout.
Oct 5 - 10:01 PM

Elias Lindholm is projected to play between newcomers Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen at training camp.

It's a combination that coach Bill Peters has expressed an interest in and it could give Lindholm a much-needed shot in the arm. Aho is an exciting prospect who is expected to make the jump to the NHL, while Teravainen has plenty of potential as well.
Aug 10 - 6:37 PM

Elias Lindholm had a "minor" procedure on his foot.

GM Ron Francis said that Lindholm has responded well from the surgery. It doesn't sound like it will be an issue going into next season. The 21-year-old forward had 11 goals and 39 points over 82 games in 2015-16.
May 27 - 9:45 AM

Elias Lindholm matched his career high in points during Saturday's 5-2 season finale defeat to Florida.

Lindholm picked up an assists and his 11th goal of the season, giving him 39 points in all 82 games this season. Through the first 221 games of his career, Lindholm has 37 goals and 99 points.
Apr 10 - 12:11 AM

Elias Lindholm had an assist in Carolina's 3-2 win over New Jersey on Sunday.

Lindholm has 10 goals and 37 points in 76 games this season. That's roughly in line with what he accomplished in 2014-15, although it would have obviously been nice to see the 21-year-old take another step forward offensively in his third campaign.
Mar 28 - 9:01 AM

Elias Lindholm scored the game winning goal for the Hurricanes in a 3-2 win over Columbus on Thursday night.

Lindholm now has 10 goals and 36 points in 74 games this season. He now has two points in his last three games.
Mar 24 - 11:02 PM

Elias Lindholm will see time as a center in the final weeks of the season.

"When he goes in the middle it’s not going to be for one or two periods or one or two games," Hurricanes coach Bill Peters said. "It’s going to be an extended look. He was drafted as a center, hasn’t played a lot of center in the NHL. But we’re going to know at the end of this year of he can do it or not." If the experiment goes well then Lindholm might spend the bulk of the 2015-16 campaign playing up the middle. The Hurricanes traded Eric Staal to the Rangers, so there is a potential long-term opening there.
