Markus Granlund is expected to play in Thursday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.
Granlund has been dealing with an upper-body injury, but the Canucks mentioned that he'd be a game-time decision for this game. Granlund is taking part in line rushes during the pre-game warmup, which would indicate that he'll be in the lineup. He's skating on a line with Sam Gagner and Thomas Vanek. Nov 9 - 9:40 PM

Markus Granlund (upper body) won't play in Tuesday's game against the Calgary Flames.

Granlund was injured in yesterday's loss to the Detroit Red Wings. He has two goals and one assist in 14 games this season. Granlund is considered day-to-day at this point.
Nov 7 - 6:35 PM

Markus Granlund was back with Brandon Sutter on Friday night against Buffalo.

Granlund didn't last long with the Sedin twins, as coach Travis Green isn't afraid to mix up his combinations on the fly. He has averaged 17:41 of playing time per game, which ranks second among Vancouver's forwards. Granlund finally got on the scoresheet Friday with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over the Sabres.
Oct 21 - 11:12 AM

Markus Granlund practiced alongside the Sedin twins on Monday.

Presumably, that's the line Granlund will be on during Tuesday's game. He would be replacing Thomas Vanek in that role. Granlund has no points in four games so it will be interesting to see if this switch sparks him.
Oct 17 - 10:44 AM

Markus Granlund scored a goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Granlund had the fifth most amount of points on the Canucks last season, but he did that in only 69 games. The 24-year-old had 19 goals and 32 points in 2016-17, which isn't a bad season. Look for him to post similar numbers this season. Unfortunately, scoring 30 to 40 points doesn't make him relevant in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 1 - 12:42 AM

Markus Granlund has played almost the entire 2016-17 campaign with broken ligaments in his wrist.

The Canucks said that Granlund "had an ongoing wrist injury" when they announced that he would be shutdown to undergo surgery, but the extent of the issue wasn't initially revealed. As it turns out, he broke the ligaments on October 25th, but still managed to score 19 goals and 32 points in 69 games this season. He's expected to need three-to-five months to recover, so he should be okay for the 2017-18 campaign.
Mar 23 - 11:31 AM

Markus Granlund will undergo wrist surgery.

"Markus has had an ongoing wrist injury which we've treated through regular maintenance and rehabilitation," said Canucks GM Jim Benning. "Our Canucks medical team and Markus believe that surgery is the best course of action for his long-term health and by having the procedure now it will allow him to have more time to rehabilitate and work out in preparation for next season. Markus is an important part of our team and we are confident he'll have a full recovery." A timetable for his recovery will come after the procedure, but obviously it wouldn't be surprising if he was out for the rest of the year.
Mar 20 - 12:45 PM

Markus Granlund is on a three-game point streak.

Granlund recorded an assist in Vancouver's 4-2 loss to Dallas Thursday night. He has 19 goals and 32 points in 68 contests this season.
Mar 17 - 9:56 AM

Markus Granlund scored two goals Monday, but it was not enough as the Canucks lost 6-3 to the Bruins.

Notably, Granlund’s goals came with assists from both Sedin brothers. Granlund has been uneven in the month of March, with only two goals and one assist. The positive spin is that he now has points in back-to-back games after getting his assist Thursday against the Islanders.
Mar 14 - 1:11 AM

Markus Granlund has registered five goals and three assists in the last 12 games.

He has been productive while playing on the top line with Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin. Granlund is expected to stay with the twins on Tuesday night and could make for a decent addition in deeper leagues at this time.
Mar 7 - 2:05 PM

Markus Granlund is fine to play on Tuesday night.

Tests for mumps came back negative, so he has been cleared to get back into the lineup.
Feb 28 - 3:33 PM

Markus Granland has been quarantined after presenting symptoms of the mumps virus.

While only Troy Stecher has a confirmed diagnosis, Chris Tanev, Nikita Tryamkin and Mike Chaput have also been quarantined after showing symptoms of the mumps. Consider Granlund day-to-day, for now.
Feb 24 - 4:41 PM

Markus Granlund registered an assist in a 4-3 loss to St. Louis on Thursday.

Granlund has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last six games. He has 14 goals and 25 points in 58 contests this season.
