Playing in his 15th career NHL game (eight this year), Granlund scored early in the third and assisted on Lance Bouma’s later in the third. The second-round pick from the 2011 draft has not looked out of place in the NHL, with three goals and five points this season. Keep an eye on the 21-year-old. Lance Bouma and Josh Jooris were the others with goal-assist nights. Paul Byron got the other marker.

The Calgary Flames suspect that Markus Granlund suffered a concussion against the Vancouver Canucks in Friday's exhibition.

Granlund, 21, appeared in seven games with the Flames last season, collecting three points. As the 45th pick of the 2011 NHL Draft, there may be some hope that Granlund can start making some headway toward longer-term NHL work, but this is an obvious setback.

Granlund, who is second in goals (23) and fourth in points (44) among AHL rookies, wasted little time scoring his first after notching his first NHL point with an assist in a 3-2 loss against the Minnesota Wild on Monday. Joe Colborne, Mike Cammalleri and Paul Byron also scored for the Flames, while rookie Sean Monahan and Mark Giordano both assisted two goals in the game.
