Sven Andrighetto has been summoned by the Montreal Canadiens.
The Canadiens need another forward after Max Pacioretty suffered an upper-body injury during Thursday's game. Andrighetto has excelled in the minors with nine goals and 18 points in 21 contests, but he's not expected to get Pacioretty's spot on a line with Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher. That role will probably go to Michael Bournival instead. Dec 19 - 5:33 PM

He had two goals and one assist in four games with the Canadiens during his first big-league callup.
Dec 17 - 5:43 PM

Sven Andrigehtto has had a strong start to his NHL career.

The Canadiens rookie forward has registered at least one point in each of his first three NHL games, a feat not accomplished by a Montreal player since Pierrre Mondou did it 34 years ago. Pretty heady stuff for the Habs' 3rd round selection in 2013. Keep an eye on Andrighetto. He will be putting his points streak on the line when the Canadiens next play Tuesday.
Dec 13 - 10:31 AM

Michel Therrien praised Sven Andrighetto after he scored in his first NHL game on Saturday.

"He played well for his first game in the NHL. He probably felt a little more comfortable on the wing. We made some line changes in the third to shake things up, but we came up short again." Andrighetto is with the big club because of the injury to Lars Eller.
Dec 7 - 1:27 PM

Sven Andrighetto scored in his NHL debut, but the Canadiens lost 4-1 to the Stars on Saturday night.

Montreal lost Lars Eller on Friday night and needed a center to slot into the lineup. The 21-year-old Andrighetto played 17 shifts for a total of 11:35, while getting a shot on goal and a plus-one rating. He had nine goals and 18 points prior to his recall in the AHL. Tomas Plekanec and Jiri Sekac picked up the helpers.
Dec 6 - 11:22 PM

Sven Andrighetto will center Montreal's third line against perhaps a fitting team, the Stars, on Saturday night.

It's expected that Jiri Sekac and PA Parenteau will flank Andrighetto, who has 18 points in 21 games for Hamilton in the AHL. He had 44 points in 64 games last season as well.
Dec 6 - 6:15 PM

The Montreal Canadiens recalled Sven Andrighetto from the AHL.

The Habs have lost five or their last six games and are surely looking to shake things up. They also lost Lars Eller (upper body) on Friday night. The 21-year-old has never played in an NHL game. He is a smaller forward with some offensive skill.
Dec 5 - 11:44 PM

Sven Andrighetto hopes to stick with the Montreal Canadiens this season but there probably isn’t a roster spot for him.

The Habs don’t have many openings at the forward position and that is definitely playing against Andrighetto. The 21-year-old Swiss forward had a good year with the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate in Hamilton last season registering 17 goals and 44 points in 64 games. "Of course I could the transition (to the NHL)," said Andrighetto. "I’m here to make the team, after that we’ll see what happens. There’s always something I can learn in Hamilton but I’m here to make the team." Andrighetto will likely start the year in Hamilton, but he’s a candidate for a call-up if the Habs suffer any injuries to their top-six forwards.
Sep 21 - 8:35 AM
