The Maple Leafs are hoping to have Connor Carrick (upper body) back on their blue line on Monday.

He's missed a month with the ailment, but may get the go-ahead if he has a good workout on Monday morning ahead of the match. "Carrick gets the puck moving, he doesn’t play a lot in his own zone, he’s mean, he likes to cross check people," Babcock said. Through 55 games this season the youngster has posted seven points along with 47 PIMs, 56 hits and 70 blocks.

That frees up a roster spot, which corresponds with the Maple Leafs' acquisition of Brian Boyle. Carrick last played on Feb. 21.

Connor Carrick did not take part in Maple Leafs practice on Friday.

Carrick suffered an upper-body injury on Tuesday night and he hasn't returned to the ice since. Don't expect him to be in the lineup when Toronto hosts Montreal on Saturday night. He continues to be day-to-day.

Connor Carrick is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

He was injured in Tuesday's game against Winnipeg. Coach Mike Babcock feels the term "day-to-day" means about 10 days, so that could keep Carrick out for the next five games.
Feb 22 - 2:13 PM

Connor Carrick left Tuesday's game against the Jets with an upper-body injury.

The Leafs have already announced that his night is over. We'll consider him day-to-day for now, but we'll provide an update on his status as soon as the Leafs make one available.
Feb 21 - 8:43 PM

Connor Carrick collected his third point of the season during Sunday's 5-4 overtime win past Detroit in the Centennial Classic.

Now through 84 games in his NHL career, 34 this season, the youngster has four goals and 13 points. Not quite fantasy-worthy, but something to get excited about if you're a Leafs fan anyway.
Jan 1 - 8:34 PM

After spending Saturday in the press box, Connor Carrick will return to the blue line on Sunday against Colorado.

With just three points 21 hits, 24 PIMs and 27 blocks, and this being only his second game since the end of November, we'd say the young defender has yet to develop much fantasy value.

Connor Carrick and Frank Corrado will be scratched against Boston on Saturday.

Through 22 games this season, Carrick has posted three points with 21 hits, 24 PIMs and 27 blocks. He's also played just once since Nov. 30th, suggesting he's losing his spot on the blue line.

Connor Carrick will be scratched against the Penguins on Saturday night.

With two points, 16 blocks, 17 hits and 18 PIMs through 14 games it's easy to see why he's being benched. But it stings if you're in a reverse league.

Every one of Toronto's players finished with a minus rating tonight, but Carrick's minus-4 rating was the worst on the team. He played 14:22 in the game.
