Date:

Adam Pelech, Eric Boulton, and Christopher Gibson will each be scratched in Friday's Game 5 against Florida.

No surprises here, as each have served merely as desperate injury fill-ins all season long. Pelech, however, may see some time should Marek Zidlicky falter in Ryan Pulock's absence.
Apr 22 - 6:46 PM

Adam Pelech (upper body) returned to action on Saturday.

Pelech was out of action almost 12 weeks before playing in his eighth game of the season. The 21-year-old blueliner played 18:41 and was a minus-two against the Sabres. He has no fantasy value at this time.
Apr 10 - 2:36 AM

Coach Jack Capuano said that defenseman Adam Pelech is close to returning to action and has been practicing.

Pelech suffered an upper body injury in January and has not played since the 17th of the month. He has only two assists in seven games this season.
Apr 3 - 7:37 AM

Adam Pelech (upper body) could be ready to return to practice Monday.

Pelech has been out of the lineup since January 17th so this is great news for the Islanders. Pelech could return to the New York lineup shortly but is likely going to need a conditioning stint with Bridgeport of the AHL or possibly even stay down in the minors. It was originally thought that the injury could be career threatening so to be able to come back just a couple of months later is great news.
Mar 27 - 10:47 AM

Adam Pelech has started skating again.

Pelech has started skating either by himself or with other injured Islander teammates. He is still considered to be 'several weeks' away from making any return to the Isles' lineup. Pelech has been out of the lineup since January 17. This is a remarkable recovery as his injury was once considered to be career ending.
Mar 14 - 9:51 AM

Adam Pelech's upper-body injury is will "almost certainly" end his season, according to Arthur Staple's sources.

Pelech is still undergoing tests though, so nothing is certain yet. We don't have a lot of details about the nature of Pelech's injury, but Islanders coach Jack Capuano described it as a "freak thing."
Jan 20 - 12:19 PM

Adam Pelech is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.

He is still be evaluated so an exact timetable has not been set yet. Pelech has skated in seven games with the Islanders this season and he posted two assists in last Thursday's game versus the Rangers.
Jan 18 - 12:22 PM

Adam Pelech has an upper-body injury.

Pelech played 16:09 in Thursday's match against the Rangers and the Islanders don't play again until Friday in Ottawa. Pelech has one point with 13 hits and 14 blocks in seven games this season.
Jan 17 - 3:50 PM

Adam Pelech is impressing his teammates, seven games into his NHL career.

Pelech was recalled due to the injury suffered Johnny Boychuk and has not looked out of place. "He’s going to be an NHL defenseman for a long time," teammate Calvin de Haan said. "Pelly’s not the flashiest guy out there, he’s not real crafty, but he gets the job done. He’s done a lot to open some eyes with this opportunity he’s gotten." Pelech picked up the first two points of his NHL career Thursday as he had a pair of assists. He has no real fantasy value despite the effort Thursday.
Jan 16 - 9:13 AM

Adam Pelech registered two assists in a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers Thursday night.

It was Pelech's first two points at the NHL level. The 21-year-old rookie also has six points in 26 AHL contests this season.
Jan 15 - 11:27 AM

Adam Pelech will tag in for Brian Strait on Sunday against Dallas.

Pelech has played in just a pair of NHL games, and has yet to make an impact on the stat sheet. Which isn't surprising given that in 91 career AHL games for Bridgeport, he's compiled 17 points and 54 PIMs.
Jan 3 - 3:35 PM

The New York Islanders have scratched Adam Pelech, Eric Boulton, and Steve Bernier from tonight's game.

Pelech was recalled yesterday, but will not crack the lineup tonight. He is a potential all-around defenseman and will likely have a solid NHL career in the near future. However, neither of the scratches have any fantasy upside.
Jan 2 - 7:15 PM

Adam Pelech has been called up by the New York Islanders.

Johnny Boychuk suffered an upper-body injury on Thursday and was consequently placed on the injured reserve list, so Pelech will try to help fill that void. Pelech has two goals and six points in 26 AHL games this season.
Jan 1 - 11:22 AM

The New York Islanders have returned defenseman Adam Pelech to AHL Bridgeport.

Pelech was unable to make much of an impression or impact at the NHL level, though he only saw 24 minutes over two games. The 21-year-old defender still has room for growth, but considering he's scored just 15 points in 79 AHL games we wouldn't expect him to be a fantasy impact moving forward.
