Ben Street was cut on the neck by a skate during Friday's game.

We had already reported Street's injury, but at the time the location of the slash was vaguer. He might begin the season on the injured reserve list.

Ben Street left Friday's game against Toronto after taking a skate to the face/neck area.

It was Toronto's Justin Holl that caught Street in the face with his skate. It's certainly a scary injury, but Sportsnet is reporting that Street is in stable condition at the hospital.

Street had seven goals and 21 points in 15 AHL games in 2015-16. He also appeared in seven games with the Colorado Avalanche, but didn't record a point in that span.

Ben Street will center Colorado's third line against Calgary on Tuesday night.

Street will have a familiar face on his left in Dennis Everberg fro their time together in the AHL. Street meanwhile has put up three goals and 12 points in six games for San Antonio. However in 22 career NHL games, he has just two assists.

He didn't have a point in three games with the Avalanche last season. This year with San Antonio of the AHL, Street has generated three goals and nine assists in six contests.

He just got back into the lineup on Tuesday night after being sidelined since the end of November with a hand injury. The Avalanche brought up Dennis Everberg to take Street's spot on the NHL roster.

He had been sidelined since November 30th with a hand injury and was placed on the injured list. Once Street is deemed ready to return to action, he will be activated off the IL and will likely be assigned to Lake Erie of the AHL. He has no fantasy value.
