Jonathan Marchessault (lower body) took part in Friday's practice.

Marchessault was wearing a non-contact jersey though, so his return probably isn't imminent. He has a goal in four games this season. He's been sidelined for the Golden Knights' last two contests.
Oct 20 - 3:50 PM

Jonathan Marchessault (lower body) has been moved to injured reserve.

Marchessault didn't participate in Saturday's practice, but coach Gerard Gallant just called it a "maintenance day" for the winger. He scored his first goal of the season in Friday's 6-3 loss to Detroit and finished with 17:59 of ice time. Marchessault is expected to miss at least one week with a lower-body injury.
Oct 15 - 12:23 PM

Jonathan Marchessault missed practice on Saturday.

Coach Gerard Gallant said it was a maintenance day but also stated that his status was undetermined for Sunday. Marchessault has a goal in four games so do not expect a repeat of his 30 goal season of last year with Florida.
Oct 15 - 9:58 AM

Jonathan Marchessault is eager for more scoring success in his first year with Vegas.

"I think I proved that I could play," said Marchessault, who scored 30 goals and generated 51 points in 75 games in 2016-17 with Florida. "Last year was my first full year, and I just was able to show that if I play a full year like this, I can be able to be successful in that league. That's the only thing I'm looking forward to is just show that I can do that." Coach Gerard Gallant is hopeful that Marchessault can take advantage of his opportunities again. He has been working with Reilly Smith and Vadim Shipachyov on the first line and the team's top power-play unit at training camp.

Jonathan Marchessault can become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Marchessault was selected in the expansion draft from Florida. He netted 30 goals and registered 51 points in 75 games last season. If Marchessault takes advantage of his increased role with the Golden Knights then he could earn an extension. He will also be reunited with former Panthers coach Gerard Gallant in Vegas, which could help his chances.
Jul 30 - 6:32 PM

Jonathan Marchessault has been picked up by Vegas in the expansion draft.

Marchessault broke out with a team-leading 30 goals for the Florida Panthers in 2016-17. He also recorded 51 points in 75 games and should play a key role in the offense of the Golden Knights next year. The Golden Knights also got Reilly Smith in exchange for a 2018 fourth-round pick so that the Panthers could shed some salary.
Jun 21 - 8:48 PM

Jonathan Marchessault was surprised that he was left unprotected for the expansion draft.

"I thought I was part of plans for the Panthers," he told radio station 91.9 Sports. The Panthers prioritized protecting four defensemen instead, so they protected less forwards. Marchessault became the first Florida player to score 30 goals since David Booth recorded 31 in 2008-09. He could be a solid addition to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Jun 20 - 10:47 AM

It is expected that Florida won't protect Jonathan Marchessault for the expansion draft.

The Panthers may have elected to protect four defensemen and leave Marchessault exposed. In our opinion that would be a huge mistake as the Vegas Golden Knights would surely pounce on selecting the 30-goal scorer.
Jun 18 - 10:28 AM

The Florida Panthers might be willing to deal Jonathan Marchessault before today's 3:00 p.m. ET trade freeze, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Marchessault was arguably the biggest surprise of the 2016-17 season, as he came out of nowhere to score 30 goals and 51 points in 75 games. The only reason he's available is because the Panthers are having a hard time putting together their protection list for the upcoming expansion draft. Marchessault has one year left on his contract at a very affordable cap hit of $750,000.
Jun 17 - 11:51 AM

Jonathan Marchessault became Florida's first 30-goal scorer since David Booth accomplished the feat back in 2009.

Marchessault has proven to be an excellent signing for the Panthers this season despite the team's disappointing spot in the standings. He has produced 51 points in 72 games in 2016-17, which ranks him third on the team in scoring.
Apr 4 - 10:34 AM

Forward Jonathan Marchessault was the Panthers' lone goal-scorer in a 4-1 loss to the visiting Montreal Canadiens Monday night.

Marchessault registered his 30th marker of the season. He tied the game 1-1 in the second period before the Canadiens scored three goals in the third.
Apr 4 - 12:15 AM

Jonathan Marchessault picked up his 50th point of the season during the 5-2 loss to the Bruins on Saturday.

He had eight goals and 19 points prior his breakout campaign. Marchessault's assist today was the 21st of the season, and he needs one more goal to crack 30.
Apr 1 - 4:30 PM

Jonathan Marchessault found the back of the net for the sixth time in the past three games on Monday night.

He has amassed 10 markers in the last 10 games and currently leads the Panthers with 29 goals on the season. He has provided Florida with plenty of bang for the buck with his $750,000 cap hit.
Mar 28 - 10:31 AM

Jonathan Marchessault had a natural hat trick in 7-0 win against Chicago Saturday night.

Marchessault built off of his two-goal performance Thursday night against Arizona, by scoring three in Florida’s shutout of Chicago. This was Marchessault’s first career hat trick. His first goal came at the end of the second period and the next two came back-to-back in the first half of the third period for the natural hat trick. His first two goals were scored against Corey Crawford, who was pulled after letting in four goals. Scott Darling relieved Crawford during the third period and Marchessault scored his third goal against the backup. Marchessault added three goals to his season for a total of 28 goals and 48 points.
