Jonathan Marchessault has amassed three goals and four points in his first three preseason games with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

He is getting his longest look at an NHL training camp, which could either earn him a roster spot to start the year or it may make him the first call-up from the minors. The 23-year-old winger posted 56 points in 77 games last year with Springfield and Syracuse of the AHL last season.
Oct 1 - 1:12 PM

Jonathan Marchessault scored a pair of goals for the Lightning Tuesday as they defeated Nashville by a score of 4-2 in preseason action.

Marchessault is little more than roster depth for the Bolts at the moment and is destined to start the season in the AHL. Mark Barberio and Nikita Kucherov also scored for Tampa in the victory while Vladislav Namestnikov dished out three assists. Andrej Vasilevskiy played the entire game between the pipes and stopped 28 of 30 shots to earn a win.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded Jonathan Marchessault to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Marchessault has 41 points and 51 penalty minutes in 56 AHL games. He's worth keeping an eye on during training camp, but we wouldn't get too excited.

Columbus also returned defenseman Tim Erixon and goaltender Mike McKenna to AHL Springfield. Dalton Prout, Nathan Horton and Sergei Bobrovsky are expected to return to the fold on Thursday night.

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault made his NHL debut on Thursday.

Audy-Marchessault had no shots on goal in 12:50 minutes of playing time. He's been great in the AHL, but he'll need to get more playing time than that to have any fantasy value. On the plus side, he did record 1:26 minutes with the man advantage.

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault has been summoned from the minors by Columbus.

He might get the opportunity to make his NHL debut on Thursday night against St. Louis. Audy-Marchessault has been outstanding in the AHL this campaign, while posting 45 points in 42 games to lead all active minor-leaguers in scoring. "We want to bring some skill and playmaking into the lineup," GM Scott Howson said. "He's had a terrific first half down there and we wanted to give him a chance, see what he can do." Columbus signed him as a free agent on July 1, 2012.
