Jonathan Marchessault’s unassisted goal in the third period proved to be the game winner in a 5-2 victory of the Florida Panthers over the Colorado Avalanche Saturday night.
Marchessault’s third victory of the season was also the third Panthers goal of the night, following a power play goal for Aaron Ekblad early in the second and another by Shane Harper late that same period. Harper would add one more insurance goal in the third with Vincent Trocheck rounding out the scoring at the 6:56 minute mark. Marchessault also provided an assist on Ekblad’s goal to give him two points on the night. Oct 22 - 11:08 PM

Jonathan Marchessault had another strong game Saturday night.

He scored a goal and registered two assists in Florida's 4-1 win over Detroit. That makes two goals and four points in Marchessault's first two games as Panther. Not too shabby. Of course he is playing with the very talented Aleksander Barkov and the Ageless Wonder, Jaromir Jagr. That said, Marchessault has been filling his role as the replacement for the injured Jonathan Huberdeau wonderfully. If he is a free agent, we recommend you pick him up.

The Florida Panthers have signed winger Jonathan Marchessault to a two-year/$1.5 million contract.

Marchessault was a nice addition to the Tampa Bay Lightning last season and got into 45 games with seven goals and 18 points. Look for similar numbers this season as a bottom six forward so he should not be drafted in fantasy pools at this time.
