Biega has two points in 10 games with Carolina. That's in addition to him recording 14 points and 77 penalty minutes in 64 AHL contests. The Hurricanes also called up Keegan Lowe, who will presumably make his NHL debut.

Coach Bill Peters said that Danny Biega will be called up by the Hurricanes.

He will join the team in Montreal, where Carolina plays on Thursday night. Biega has 14 points and 77 penalty minutes in 64 games with AHL Charlotte. He hasn't played in the NHL yet in his career, but his debut is expected to come versus the Canadiens.

Danny Biega has agreed to terms with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Biega was taken by Carolina with the 67th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He had 11 points and 43 penalty minutes in 32 NCAA games in 2012-13. His deal is a three-year, entry-level contract that will pay him $67,500 annually at the AHL level. If he plays in the NHL, he'll earn $625,000 in next season, $675,000 in 2014-15 and $725,000 in the final season of the deal. He'll also receive a $240,000 signing bonus. Carolina has assigned him to AHL Charlotte.
