Mar 1 - 11:24 AM

Andrej Sustr scored for just the second time this season on Sunday against Florida.

He produced the game winner and energized the Lightning bench when he found the back of the net. "That's a defenseman scoring a goal six inches from the post," coach Jon Cooper said. "That's how we need our guys to play. If we don't have our defensemen involved, we have trouble scoring." Still, he shouldn't expect more of that from Sustr, who has three goals in 160 career games. The 25-year-old rearguard has chipped in 10 points in 43 matches this campaign.
Jan 18 - 11:01 AM

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been impressed with Andrej Sustr's development.

"He’s come a long way and he’s going to keep getting better," associate coach Rick Bowness said. "He’s gained more and more confidence with the puck and it takes a couple of years for young defensemen in this league. Look at his background, where he came from, and now he’s playing 20 minutes a night and he’ll just continue to get better and better." The 6'7, 220 pounder isn't known for his offensive instincts, so his fantasy upside is limited, but he is a useful player for Tampa Bay.
