Nov 12 - 2:01 AM

He is still dealing with a foot injury that has kept him on the shelf for three of the past four games. Chiasson was able to skate on Monday.
Nov 11 - 9:55 AM

Nov 6 - 5:51 PM

Alex Chiasson sat out Tuesday's game versus Detroit with a foot injury.

He was injured when he blocked a shot Saturday against Boston. Chiasson has seven points in 10 games this season and his status should be considered day-to-day. Erik Condra suited up in his place.
Nov 5 - 9:13 AM

He has recorded two goals and three assists over that span. Both of his markers were scored on the power play. Chiasson has been building chemistry with Mika Zibanejad, who has two goals in his last two games.
Nov 3 - 11:19 AM

Alex Chiasson got his first goal in an Ottawa uniform during Thursday's season opener at Nashville.

He scored on the power play to make it 3-2 for Nashville, but that was as close as Ottawa would get. Cody Ceci and Chris Phillips picked up assists on the play. Chiasson was acquired from Dallas in the Jason Spezza trade, so he'll face plenty of unfair comparisons, but he should be able to produce some offense this year for the Senators.
Oct 10 - 10:54 AM

After coming over in a trade with the Dallas Stars, Senators forward Alex Chiasson is looking forward to a fresh start in Ottawa.

"I feel like the trade can really be a big opportunity for me to bring my game to the next level," said Chiasson. The 23-year-old has been skating on a line with Mika Zibanejad and Milan Michalek. The line will be counted on to produce offensively this season. "I thought we made some good plays out there and you can tell those two guys are really skilled." With the right opportunity, a 50-point season isn’t out of the question for Chiasson.
Sep 21 - 9:19 AM

Alex Chiasson started training camp skating on the Senators' second line alongside Mika Zibanejad and Milan Michalek.

Not a bad place to be for sure. Chiasson got off to a tremendous start last season with the Stars but faded in the second half. If he sticks on this unit and gets the power-play time we expect he will, look for Chiasson to register approximately 45-50 points. That makes him draftable in deep pools.
Sep 20 - 11:38 AM

Alex Chiasson is looking forward to playing in Ottawa.

"I'm really excited for this opportunity that's coming to me," he said after being acquired from Dallas in the Jason Spezza trade. "It's definitely a new challenge and I'm really looking forward to the new experience. It should be a fun year ahead." He feels ready to play for a Canadian team and heard good thing about the city of Ottawa from Antoine Vermette, who partners with Chiasson in a summer training program.

Dallas took the lead on Chiasson's power-play goal, his first career playoff goal, at 7:40 of the first period. Dallas coach Lindy Ruff put Chiasson at right wing in place of Valeri Nichushkin on the top line to provide scoring depth. Ryan Garbutt scored the other goal for the Stars.
