Alex Chiasson will return to Ottawa's lineup Sunday against the Rangers.
Chiasson has posted just six points with 27 PIMs and 65 hits through 43 games this season. But it's Sunday, so if you need a plug he may be a good bet to rough it up with Tanner Glass. Jan 24 - 1:58 PM

Alex Chiasson will be scratched against the Islanders on Friday night.

Chiasson has posted just six points with 27 PIMs and 65 hits through 43 games this season. Not bad, but not very valuable either.
Jan 22 - 7:29 PM

Alex Chiasson fit in very well with Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Curtis Lazar in Saturday's 5-3 win over Los Angeles.

He scored his first goal since Nov. 7 and finished the contest with a plus-3 rating in 12:44 of ice time. Chiasson was motivated to play hard after being scratched for the previous four games. He has chipped in just three goals and three assists in 41 appearances this year.
Jan 18 - 10:34 AM

Look for Alex Chiasson to suit up against the Kings Saturday afternoon.

He has been a healthy scratch for four consecutive games but will get an opportunity to play against a tough and physical Los Angeles squad. Chiasson will likely replace Max McCormik on the Sens' third line. Without a goal in his last 26 games, Chiasson is not a fantasy asset.
Jan 16 - 10:44 AM

Coach Dave Cameron has elected to forego any lineup changes for Sunday's match with Washington.

Which means that Alex Chiasson, Jared Cowen, and Chris Wideman will each be scratched tonight. It's worth noting that Chiasson has posted 27 PIMs and 62 hits through 40 games this season. While Cowen has 46 hits and 92 blocks in just 32 games.
Jan 10 - 5:13 PM

Alex Chiasson, Jared Cowen, and Chris Wideman will each be scratched from Saturday's match with Boston.

There's a bit of fantasy value here worth noting as Chiasson has amassed 27 PIMs and 62 hits through 40 games. While Cowen has 46 hits and 92 blocks in just 32 games. Not bad if you need a plug.
Jan 9 - 6:13 PM

Alex Chiasson will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Florida Panthers.

Chris Wideman and Jared Cowen will also watch from the press box. Wideman and Chiasson are sitting because Milan Michalek and Cody Ceci are ready to return from injury. Chiasson has been a big disappointment since being acquired from Dallas in 2014.
Jan 7 - 7:28 PM

Alex Chiasson has two goals and three assists in 35 contests this season.

Chiasson had a solid 35 points as a rookie in 2013-14, but he slipped to 26 points last season and it looks like he might fall below that mark in 2015-16. He has been contributing without the puck though as illustrated by his 54 hits and 13 blocks.

Alex Chiasson scored a power play goal in Saturday's 3-2 OT loss to Carolina.

Chiasson tied the game with his goal at the 11:37 mark of the second period. The 25-year-old hasn't been very productive since being acquired from the Stars two off-seasons ago. He has just two goals and three points in 14 games.

Alex Chiasson registered an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win over Calgary.

He earned his first helper of the season on a goal by Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Chiasson has contributed two points in nine games this season

Alex Chiasson expected to be more productive than he was in 2014-15.

Chiasson had 26 points in 76 games last season, down from 35 points in 79 contests in 2013-14 when he was still with the Dallas Stars. "From the season I had the year before in Dallas, I thought I was going to come in and be more explosive, a little more offensive," Chiasson says. "Obviously that didn't happen. A lot has to do with confidence. It's hard when you get opportunities and feel like you can't finish. I think it's been a good summer for me to work on my legs, work on my speed." His struggles likely literally cost him as an arbitrator assigned him a $1.2 million salary for the 2015-16 campaign after he requested $2.475 million. The arbitrator's ruling was far closer to Ottawa's counter of $1 million.

Alex Chiasson’s arbitration ruling is a win for the Senators.

He will be paid $1.2 million for one year. The 24-year-old was part of the trade that sent Jason Spezza to the Stars last offseason. He had 11 goals and 26 points in 2014-15. The restricted free agent sought $2.475 million, while the Senators offered $1 million. "The arbitration process went as we expected - we had the opportunity to make our case, as did Alex’s group," general manager Bryan Murray said. "In our opinion, both sides made fair, detailed arguments and we are satisfied with the ruling of the arbitrator. We are happy to have Alex under contract and anticipate that he will be a productive player for us this season. Alex will be given the chance to have an important role in the team’s success."

According to the Ottawa Citizen, Alex Chiasson may be in a battle with Chris Neil for a spot at Right Wing.

Chiasson was awarded a one-year deal worth $1.2 million in arbitration early Sunday morning, but an every day-spot in the lineup isn't guaranteed for him. Ottawa has Milan Michalek, Bobby Ryan and Curtis Lazar on the right side already. At this point in their careers, Chiasson should have no problem beating Chris Neil out of a spot on the roster.

Chiasson was asking for $2.475 million while the Senators were countering with $1 million. The 24-year-old had a disappointing first season for Ottawa, as he finished with just 11 goals and 26 points in 76 games.
