Down 3-1 in their series with Montreal, Alex Chiasson will tag back in for Chris Neil in Game Five on Friday night. Chiasson will skate to the right of Milan Michalek and Zack Smith on the fourth line.
Unfortunately, neither tough forward has been much of a factor in Ottawa's ability to win a game. Chiasson averaged 14 shits worth 7:09 with two shots and no points in his first two games, which is not materially different than Neil's contributions. Apr 24 - 6:12 PM

The Senators will insert Zach Smith for veteran David Legwand for Game 4 Wednesday night versus the Canadiens. The rest of the lineup will remain the same from Game 3.

As Ottawa is hanging on for their lives down 3-0 to the Canadiens, Ottawa head coach Dave Cameron will try to gain some speed by inserting Smith for Legwand. Other than that move, the rest of the lineup will be unchanged, which means the following players will all watch from the press box with Legwand: Alex Chaisson, Frederick Claesson, Jared Cowen, Chrid Driedger, Colin Greening, Shane Prince, Matt Puempel, Buddy Robinson, and Chris Wideman.

Alex Chiasson will be scratched for Game Three against Montreal on Sunday night.

Chris Neil will step into Chiasson's fourth line slot for his first game since mid-February. Chiasson recorded just two shots and seven hits with no points in just over 14 minutes of work during the first two games of the series.
Apr 19 - 6:14 PM

Alex Chiasson was on the fourth line in Game 1, but he moved up to the second line at practice on Thursday.

He got the promotion because of Mark Stone's injury. Chiasson may start Game 2 alongside Mika Zibanejad and Bobby Ryan as a result.
Apr 16 - 6:31 PM

Alex Chiasson played alongside Kyle Turris on Mark Stone on Monday night.

He was promoted because Milan Michalek was dealing with "headaches" and he recorded the game-winning goal in a 5-2 win over San Jose. Chiasson has a three-game point streak (one goal, two assists) and he stands a better chance of extending that if he remains with Turris and Stone for Thursday's game versus the Rangers.
Mar 25 - 10:43 AM

Alex Chiasson scored a goal and an assist in Ottawa's 7-2 win over Edmonton on Saturday afternoon.

The goal was about as lucky as it gets, but that's not to say Chiasson didn't put himself into position to score. He was in the high slot when he received Erik Condra's pass and has his shot heavily deflected off of Rob Klinkhammer's stick and behind Richard Bachman. Chiasson now has nine goals and 14 points on the year.
Feb 14 - 6:03 PM

Alex Chiasson (undisclosed) returned to action on Saturday.

Chiasson only saw 10:40 of playing time and took a minor in the loss to Columbus. Chiasson has been a bit of a disappointment this season with only eight goals and 18 points in 45 games. He was part of the Jason Spezza trade to Dallas during the off-season and a lot more was expected of him by Sens fans and poolies.
Feb 8 - 2:19 AM

Alex Chiasson (undisclosed) won't play Thursday.

He hasn't resumed contact drills yet, so he won't be cleared to return. Chiasson has already missed two games due to an undisclosed ailment.
Feb 4 - 2:40 PM

Alex Chiasson is dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Chiasson will not be available on Saturday and he's considered day-to-day beyond that. He has eight goals and 18 points in 44 games this season. David Legwand will play instead after spending two games in the press box.
Jan 30 - 2:29 PM

Alex Chiasson ended a 16-game goalless drought Thursday night.

He scored against his former Dallas teammates early in the third period to tie the game at 3-3. The Senators rallied from a 3-0 deficit, but couldn't complete the comeback in a 6-3 loss.
Jan 30 - 9:54 AM

Alex Chiasson hasn't scored a goal in his past 16 games.

"Sometimes, I think I think too much about my game," Chiasson said before Wednesday's win over Toronto. "The other day, I sat down and looked at the goals I've scored and most have come from five to 10 feet around the net, so you've got to think that's where I need to be." Chiasson has earned just two assists during his goalless slump and he has 17 points in 43 games.
Jan 22 - 11:43 AM

Alex Chiasson hasn't recorded a point in his last 11 games.

In an attempt to get him back on the scoresheet, he has been playing with Clarke MacArthur and Kyle Turris. Chiasson will be back in Dallas to play against his former club on Tuesday night.
Jan 12 - 9:54 AM

Alex Chiasson wants to sign a long-term contract with the Ottawa Senators.

He will become a restricted free agent once his entry-level deal expires at the end of the 2014-15 season. Chiasson was acquired from Dallas as part of the Jason Spezza trade. "I didn't know what it would be like to play in a Canadian city," he said. "Obviously it's different from Dallas but I really appreciate the change. It's been really good for me. Every day. It's kind of a dream for a kid from Quebec to play in a Canadian city. Hopefully I can do that for a few years." He has seven goals and 15 points in 31 games during his first year with the Senators.

Forward Alex Chiasson picked up a goal and an assist in the Ottawa Senators' 5-4 shootout loss to the Sabres in Buffalo Monday night.

Chiasson now has seven goals on the season. Chiasson gave the Senators a 4-3 lead 5:04 into the third period after stealing the puck from Sabres defenseman Andrej Meszaros near the blue line. Chiasson skated in on a 2-on-1 with Curtis Lazar against Tyson Strachan. He scored on a nifty backhand. Lazar also scored for the Sens, his first of the season. Bobby Ryan and Mark Stone chipped in for Ottawa, each netting their seventh goals of the season.

Alex Chiasson's goal late in the third period was a difference-maker for Ottawa as they outlasted the Blues to earn a 3-2 shootout victory Tuesday.

Chiasson's sixth tally on the season came in the game's final minute and sent the matchup into overtime. Erik Condra also contributed by scoring his first goal of the season in the comeback win.
