As anticipated, Tobias Rieder has rejoined the Arizona Coyotes.

Rieder was being held up because he needed to get a work visa. That process is over now, so he's available for the Coyotes' season opener on Saturday. Look for him to play on a line with Christian Dvorak and Anthony Duclair in that game.

Tobias Rieder is expected to rejoin the Coyotes on Wednesday.

Rieder needed to sort out some work visa issues. He should be fine for the Coyotes' season opener on Saturday.
Oct 12 - 9:00 AM

Tobias Rieder may not be with the Coyotes until Tuesday due to work visa issues.

The German forward inked a two-year deal on Tuesday but there are no worries in Coyote camp as Rieder saw plenty of action for Team Europe at the World Cup. He had 14 goals and 37 points last season and should be around that mark again in 2016-17. Draft him accordingly if you are in a deep draft.
Oct 9 - 4:48 AM

Tobias Rieder's two-year, $4.45 million deal with the Arizona Coyotes has been confirmed by his agent, Darren Ferris.

Rieder will make $2 million in 2016-17 and $2.45 million in 2017-18. He was a restricted free agent after completing his entry-level deal. As is typical for RFAs, Rieder didn't report to the Coyotes' training camp prior to signing this contract, but he was playing for Team Europe in the World Cup, so rust isn't a concern for him going forward.
Oct 4 - 4:45 AM

Tobias Rieder has signed a two-year, $4.45 million with the Arizona Coyotes, according to a league source.

Rieder played 154 games with the Coyotes in the past two seasons, scoring 27 goals with 31 assists. Rieder could rejoin the Coyotes in the next few days.
Oct 4 - 12:05 AM

Restricted free agent Tobias Rieder will not report to the Coyotes training camp without a new contract.

The point is currently moot as Rieder is in the World Cup final with Team Europe but it's probably fair to say that he and his agent, Darren Ferris are not at all happy with the Coyotes at this time. "We’ve made them a fair offer at two years at $2.5 million a year, and they’re unwilling to do it," Ferris said. "Tobi brings a lot of intangibles to that team. I know he’s a fan favorite. He loves Arizona, but it’s disappointing that they’re unwilling to compensate this kid fairly. But at the end of the day, we’re not far apart but they’re not willing to do it at all. I would doubt at this point that I could say that anything’s imminent in getting done." Rieder had 14 goals and 37 points last season and is in line for an equal season if he plays the full schedule.
Sep 26 - 6:43 AM

Tobias Rieder remains a restricted free agent.

"We’ve made our offers," Coyotes GM John Chayka said. "He knows where we stand, and we’re certainly hopeful." Rieder is currently playing with Team Europe in the World Cup, but after that he might not attend camp unless a deal is worked out with Arizona. He had 14 goals and 37 points in 82 contests in 2015-16.

Contract talks between Tobias Rieder and Arizona remain stalled.

His agent, Darren Ferris, is currently in Slovakia for the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. Rieder, who is a restricted free agent, is reportedly looking for a two-year deal worth an average annual value of $2.75 million. He has received interest from KHL teams and could decide to play there after the World Cup of Hockey.
Aug 12 - 7:41 PM

Tobias Rieder intends to make a decision on the KHL after playing in the World Cup of Hockey.

Rieder will play for Team Europe, as a representative of Germany, at the tournament in September. His agent said the start of KHL season on August 22 won't have an impact contract talks with the Coyotes.
Aug 5 - 11:13 AM

The Coyotes continue to talk contract with Tobias Rieder, but a deal doesn't appear to be close.

Rieder's camp is reportedly seeking a two-year deal worth an average annual value of $2.75 million. His agent, Darren Ferris, told Arizona Sports that KHL teams are interested, but it's unclear if Rieder is leaning towards that option.
Aug 3 - 1:40 PM

Tobias Rieder and the Coyotes have made progress in their contract negotiations.

Jul 25 - 2:24 PM

Tobias Rieder and the Arizona Coyotes aren't close to reaching a deal, per his agent Darren Ferris.

Jul 8 - 4:10 AM

Tobias Rieder has been named to Team Europe.

Rieder played for Germany earlier this month at the World Championships but the Germans do not have a team at the upcoming World Cup. The promising youngster will get a chance to play with the likes of Anze Kopitar and fellow German Leon Draisaitl in the tournament, which will take place in Toronto. Rieder had 14 goals and 37 points for the Coyotes in 2015-16. The 23-year-old still has some upside for poolies.
May 28 - 7:30 AM

Tobias Rieder suffered a lower-body injury at the World Championship last week while playing for Germany.

He will miss the rest of the tournament and it's projected that he will need about a month to recover. "Tobi has a long summer to recover and get his training in," said GM John Chayka. "We expect him to be ready to go at training camp in September at 100 percent." He skated in all 82 games for the Coyotes in 2015-16, where he produced 14 goals and 37 points.
