Rieder fired out of the chute with two goals and an assist in a three-game point streak to open the season. However, he has cooled off substantially, and his goal on Wednesday snapped a nine-game point drought dating back to Dec. 2. The goal was his first since lighting the lamp Nov. 20 in Toronto.

Tobias Rieder found the back of the net in Arizona's 4-1 win against Toronto on Monday.

Rieder has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last four games. That's brought him up to five goals and eight points in 23 games in 2017-18. His current pace would still put him shy of 30 points, but there's a decent chance he'll manage to get to that milestone for the third straight season.

Tobias Rieder, who had ankle surgery over the summer, is confident that he'll be available for Arizona's season opener.

"On the ice, it actually feels pretty normal," Rieder said. "It’s just running off the ice it still feels a little weird, but there’s no pain or anything." Rieder was in Monday's preseason game, marking his debut since the surgery. He'd like to get into another game or two before the regular season, but it seems fair to believe at this point that he'll be a part of the opening game lineup.
Tue, Sep 26, 2017 09:18:00 AM has Arizona Coyotes forward Tobias Rieder as a potential breakout player this upcoming season.

Through 234 career NHL games, Rieder has picked up 43 goals and 92 points playing on predominantly low scoring Coyotes teams. With new head coach Rick Tocchet in town, Rieder might see an expanded offensive role and is a candidate to eclipse his career high of 37 points set during the 2015-16 season. He should be a good bet to hit the 20-goal mark for the first time but we remain skeptical of a vast improvement offensively. Tobias Rieder scored a goal in Arizona's 3-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.

Rieder opened the scoring just 3:20 into the first period, but that's all the offense his team could muster. Rieder finished the game with a minus-1 rating and two shots on goal in 14:12 of ice time. He has 16 goals and 18 assists in 72 games. He isn't worth owning in most fantasy leagues.

Tobias Rieder scored a goal and picked up an assist in a 6-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.

Rieder made a nice move to out wait Robin Lehner for his 14th goal and 1st short-handed tally of the year. The former 4th round pick is now up to 27 points in 61 games, putting him on track for the same offensive output as last season. He doesn't own much fantasy upside playing for the struggling Coyotes. Teemu Pulkkinen and Alex Goligoski also scored for Arizona in the loss.

Tobias Rieder scored once and added a pair of assists Saturday.

Rieder, Martin Hanzal and Radim Vrbata combined for 10 points in the Coyotes 5-3 win. The points snapped a six game pointless drought and gives the winger nine goals and 19 assists this season. He has been a very good find for the Coyotes with his two-way play. He was drafted late in the fourth round by Edmonton in 2011. While he is not worth a pick in fantasy, he contributes to the Coyotes in many ways other than the scoresheet.
