Tobias Rieder will get into his first career playoff game on Wednesday.
Rieder is in his fourth NHL season and he started his career with Arizona. However, the Coyotes shipped him to Los Angeles on Feb. 21 as part of the Darcy Kuemper's trade. Rieder has played a supporting role with Los Angeles, scoring four goals and six points in 20 contests while averaging 12:50 minutes per game. "We had a couple playoff-type games at the end of the regular season, so I think I kind of know what to expect," Rieder said. "But, obviously, I’ve never been in a playoff game, so I don’t, really. From watching it on TV, there’s a high intensity. Like I said, I’m really excited for it." Apr 11 - 4:53 AM

Date:

Tobias Rieder will play against his former Arizona teammates on Tuesday night.

"It's exciting," Rieder said. "Obviously a little weird being in the other dressing room, but I'm really excited for tonight." It will also be the 300th game of his NHL career. Rieder is projected to play alongside Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis for a second straight game.
Mar 13 - 6:37 PM

The Los Angeles Kings have elected to not make any changes to the lineup that beat the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

That means Tobias Rieder, Kevin Gravel, Paul LaDue and Andy Andreoff will be scratched.
Mar 10 - 3:41 PM

Tobias Rieder scored his ninth of the season and first as a Los Angeles King on Saturday.

Rieder was acquired from the Coyotes this past week and has been seeing time on the top line with Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown. If this continues, Rieder's fantasy value will spike significantly.
Feb 25 - 7:36 AM

The Los Angeles Kings have acquired Tobias Rieder from the Arizona Coyotes.

The Kings also got goalie Scott Wedgewood in the package. Rieder is scheduled to become a restricted free agent at the end of this season. The 25-year-old has eight goals and 19 points in 58 games this season. This trade won't really give him much of a fantasy boost. The Coyotes will retain 15 percent of his remaining salary.
Feb 21 - 7:07 PM

Tobias Rieder posted a goal with an assist and a plus-1 rating in Monday's 6-1 win against the visiting Blackhawks.

Rieder was dressed in street clothes last week against the Winnipeg Jets and apparently that lit a fire under him. The German-born center had his first multi-point performance since Dec. 28 against the Maple Leafs, and it was his first goal since Dec. 27, a span of 15 outings. Needless to say, he still is only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy pools until further notice.
Feb 13 - 12:36 AM

Tobias Rieder will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

It's the first game Rieder will miss all season. The Coyotes forward hasn't found the back of the net in 13 consecutive games. He has six goals and 14 points in 52 games this season. Freddie Hamilton and Kyle Capobianco will also serve as scratches in this one.

Tobias Rieder assisted on two goals in the Arizona Coyotes' 7-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

Rieder registered his first multi-point game of the season on Thursday and first since March 11, 2016. The Coyotes also got goals from Josh Archibald, Brendan Perlini, Jordan Martinook and Christian Fischer in the loss. Rieder has six markers and 13 points in 40 games this season.

Tobias Rieder opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 win in Colorado.

Rieder fired out of the chute with two goals and an assist in a three-game point streak to open the season. However, he has cooled off substantially, and his goal on Wednesday snapped a nine-game point drought dating back to Dec. 2. The goal was his first since lighting the lamp Nov. 20 in Toronto.

Tobias Rieder found the back of the net in Arizona's 4-1 win against Toronto on Monday.

Rieder has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last four games. That's brought him up to five goals and eight points in 23 games in 2017-18. His current pace would still put him shy of 30 points, but there's a decent chance he'll manage to get to that milestone for the third straight season.

Tobias Rieder scored a goal in Arizona's 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Rieder ended his seven-game point drought. He has three goals and five points in 17 contests this season.

Tobias Rieder recorded an assist in the Coyotes' 5-3 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday.

Rieder ended his five-game point drought. He has two goals and four points in nine contests this season. He's expected to record 30-40 points in 2017-18 as long as he stays healthy.

Tobias Rieder tallied the Coyotes' lone goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to Vegas on Saturday.

Jordan Martinook and Luke Schenn registered assists on Rieder's first goal of the year. Rieder has two points in two games to start the 2017-18 campaign.

Tobias Rieder, who had ankle surgery over the summer, is confident that he'll be available for Arizona's season opener.

"On the ice, it actually feels pretty normal," Rieder said. "It’s just running off the ice it still feels a little weird, but there’s no pain or anything." Rieder was in Monday's preseason game, marking his debut since the surgery. He'd like to get into another game or two before the regular season, but it seems fair to believe at this point that he'll be a part of the opening game lineup.

NHL.com has Arizona Coyotes forward Tobias Rieder as a potential breakout player this upcoming season.

Through 234 career NHL games, Rieder has picked up 43 goals and 92 points playing on predominantly low scoring Coyotes teams. With new head coach Rick Tocchet in town, Rieder might see an expanded offensive role and is a candidate to eclipse his career high of 37 points set during the 2015-16 season. He should be a good bet to hit the 20-goal mark for the first time but we remain skeptical of a vast improvement offensively. The complete list of breakout candidates can be viewed by clicking on the link below.
