Nate Schmidt logged a team-high 23:17 of ice time in Game 2 against Winnipeg.
Vegas' top defense pairing of Schmidt and Brayden McNabb helped shut down Mark Scheifele's line in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final in a 3-1 win for the Golden Knights. "I just tried to move my feet and stay with him and (McNabb) was a big help," said Schmidt. "You're not going to shut down Scheifele by yourself. He's too big and fast. I thought we did a better job in just managing the game (Monday). We tried to attack instead of letting it come to us. You want to play against great players and leave your mark on the game and I thought we did that." May 15 - 11:45 AM

Nate Schmidt scored a goal while adding an assist and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's Game 6 win in San Jose.

Schmidt deposited his second goal of the postseason late in the second period for a back-breaking goal, increasing the team's lead to 2-0. They ended up not needing that insurance, but it was a tough goal for the Sharks to swallow, as the noose was already tightened earlier in the period when Jonathan Marchessault struck to draw first blood and quiet the crowd. Schmidt has the makings of a star, and he looks like he'll be a mainstay blueliner for many years to come.

He'll finish the season with five goals and 36 points in 76 games this season. Zach Whitecloud, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Tomas Nosek will also watch the game from the press box.
