The San Jose Sharks replaced John Scott with Eriah Hayes for Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils.
Scott landed a big hit on New York Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski and even scored a goal this week, but that's probably the most you'll see from the big enforcer. Hayes isn't expected to make much of a fantasy impact, either. Oct 18 - 12:38 PM

The San Jose Sharks successfully assigned Eriah Hayes to the AHL.

He scored a goal in 15 games last season with San Jose, but isn't likely to make an impact on a level of interest for fantasy owners in 2014-15.

Eriah Hayes has been placed on waivers by the San Jose Sharks.

Hayes had a goal in 15 games with San Jose last season. He's in the final season of his entry-level contract.
Oct 10 - 12:45 PM

Eriah Hayes scored a goal in San Jose's 4-1 loss to Calgary Thursday night.

Hayes' first NHL goal 36 seconds into the third period avoided a third consecutive shutout and ended San Jose's scoring drought at 160:36, but it wasn't enough to keep the Sharks from losing their third in a row in a four-day span. Tommy Wingels and Patrick Marleau assisted the lone goal.

Eriah Hayes made his NHL debut on Sunday.

Hayes saw fourth line duty Sunday alongside Mike Brown and John McCarthy. Hayes played a team low 7:09 minutes with a couple of shots on net. He has no fantasy value.
Jan 6 - 8:35 AM

The San Jose Sharks will call up Eriah Hayes.

Hayes will attempt to join the team in Colorado as soon as possible, given that they're scheduled to play against the Avalanche on Saturday. However, East Coast weather problems could throw a wrench in those plans.
Jan 3 - 6:40 PM

Eriah Hayes has been signed a two-year, two-way deal with the San Jose Sharks.

It's worth noting that this is not an entry-level contract. Hayes will turn 25 in July and therefore is too old for that type of deal. He had 20 goals and 36 points in 41 NCAA games this season.
