Troy Grosenick has been sent to the minors.
Grosenick was called up on Nov. 12 to help fill the void while Alex Stalock was recovering from a lower-body injury. He had a 1.53 GAA and .948 save percentage in two contests with San Jose before suffering an upper-body injury on Nov. 25. He's healthy now, but so are Antti Niemi and Stalock, so that's why Grosenick is heading back to the AHL. Dec 9 - 4:04 PM

The San Jose Sharks have place goaltender Troy Grosenick on the injured reserve list with an upper body injury.

Although the Sharks are saying upper body, it appeared that Grosenick suffered a head injury during Tuesday's practice as he was seen taking a shot off his helmet. Once he is able to return, he will be sent back to the minors as Alex Stalock is back and Antti Niemi is healthy.
Nov 30 - 10:07 AM

The San Jose Sharks have to be concerned that the injury suffered by Troy Grosenick could be a concussion.

The Sharks say that the netminder suffered an undisclosed injury but he was seen taking a shot of his helmet in practice on Tuesday and woke up Wednesday not feeling well. We shall see but with Alex Stalock scheduled to return, the Sharks will not need to call up another goalie.
Nov 29 - 10:32 AM

After Troy Grosenick was injured in Tuesday's practice, the Sharks were forced to reach out for a local emergency backup goalie to Antti Niemi on Wednesday.

Talk about a resume filler, eh Ryan Lowe? The 31 year old netminder of Rendando, CA, now residing in San Jose, last played profressionally for the Sydney Bears in the AIHL. The contract type is a Professional Tryout.
Nov 26 - 8:34 PM

Troy Grosenick suffered an undisclosed injury at Tuesday's practice.

That explains why he wasn't on the ice for Wednesday's session. Alex Stalock was on the ice, but he isn't ready to return yet.
Nov 26 - 2:40 PM

Sharks goaltender Troy Grosenick wasn't able to follow-up his fantastic career debut with another victory, as he suffered a 4-1 loss to Buffalo Tuesday night.

Grosenick surrendered three goals on just 13 shots in Tuesday's defeat, a far cry from his 45-save shutout effort on Sunday. Brought up to serve as Antti Niemi's backup while Alex Stalock nurses his injury, the 25-year-old has no guarantee of regular playing time going forward.
Nov 19 - 12:26 AM

Troy Grosenick will play between the pipes on Tuesday.

The decision to start Grosenick is surprising in the sense that he's a 25-year-old goaltender who just made his debut on Sunday and was only called up to temporarily serve as Antti Niemi's backup. However, when you factor in that he's coming off of a 45-save shutout, it's not shocking that coach Todd McLellan would decide he's deserving of another start.
Nov 18 - 2:01 PM

Troy Grosenick stopped all 45 shots he faced in San Jose's 2-0 win over Carolina.

The start was Grosenick's first in the NHL. The 25-year-old was signed by San Jose as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Grosenick is with the Sharks because of an injury to Alex Stalock. He could be a nice short-term add to your fantasy lineup if the Sharks want to give him more starts while Stalock is out.
Nov 16 - 8:24 PM

If you need a quick add/drop win, you could do worse than San Jose Sharks' Troy Grosenick against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.

Grosenick hasn't ever started in an NHL game before. His AHL stats are pretty mediocre, to boot. That said, the Sharks still have the potential to guide a lesser known goalie, so he's worth considering if you're hard up for a win in a head-to-head league.
Nov 16 - 1:32 PM

Look for the San Jose Sharks to give goaltender Troy Grosenick a start on the weekend.

Grosenick was recalled on Tuesday after the Sharks placed Alex Stalock on the injured reserve list. With San Jose playing the Blue Jackets on Saturday and Carolina Sunday, it seems like a perfect time to give the netminder his first NHL start in his career. Grosenick was 7-2-1 this season with Worcester as he had a 2.73 GAA and a .908 save percentage.
Nov 15 - 9:07 AM

Troy Grosenick has been called up by San Jose.

He has posted a 7-2-1 record with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 10 appearances for Worcester of the AHL. Grosenick will back up Antti Niemi while Alex Stalock recovers from a lower-body injury.
Nov 12 - 1:36 PM

Troy Grosenick has inked an entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks.

"We think that Troy is a quality goaltender and we are excited to bring him into the fold," said Sharks GM Doug Wilson. "He has excelled the past couple seasons at Union playing for coach Rick Bennett and his staff, and we feel he can be a valuable member of our organization." He had a 2.12 GAA and .926 save percentage in 34 games with Union College this season.
