Nikitak Nesterov was scratched for the third game in a row Saturday night.

After showing well in training camp, Nesterov has become a non-factor in the Lightning lineup. Many had high hopes for the 23-year-old rearguard, but its obvious he can't progress if he doesn't get to play. Drop him if you have him on your roster.

Nikita Nesterov will tag in for the injured Pavel Datsyuk in Saturday's semi-final against Canada.

It'll be Nesterov's World Cup debut as well. He was seen centering the fourth line for Russia in warm-ups, but he's a defender for Tampa Bay, so it's more likely that he'll play a swing-man roll or Russia will roll seven defensemen.

Nikita Nesterov will be a healthy scratch in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final against Pittsburgh.

This isn't exactly breaking news, as he's been a healthy scratch in all but one of the games in this series. The 23-year-old has no goals and one assist in nine postseason games in 2016. Jonathan Marchessault and Erik Condra are also expected to watch the game from the press box.

May 20 - 8:12 PM

Nikita Nesterov could be a healthy scratch Monday night in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final.

He stayed on the ice late at the morning skate, which suggests he could be out. The Lightning dressed seven defensemen in Game 1 against Pittsburgh and Nesterov logged just 7:34 of ice time. This adds to the evidence that Anton Stralman could be back in the fold.
