Nikita Nesterov (illness) was back on the ice on Saturday.

Nikita Nesterov will be the headliner for the healthy scratches in Game 6 Monday night versus Chicago.

Head coach Jon Cooper has elected to go with Jonathan Drouin over Nikita Nesterov for Game 6 in Chicago which means Tampa Bay will only dress six defensemen. Nesterov has had a nice playoff debut scoring six points in 17 postseason games and a lot will be expected of him in the future. Jonathan Marchessault, Vladislav Namestinikov, and Mark Barberio will also be healthy scratches Monday night.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are not dressing defenseman Nikita Nesterov in Game 5 against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.

Instead, the Lightning are going with a 12-forward, six-defenseman alignment that includes Jonathan Drouin. Nestorov has a solid six points in 17 postseason games, although he's on a four-game pointless streak.

Head Coach Jon Cooper will not be making any changes to the Tampa Bay lineup for Game 4 Wednesday night in Chicago.

That means the Lightning will use the unorthodox lineup of 11 forwards and seven defensemen once again. Nikita Nesterov will continue to see ice time as the seventh defenseman while Jonathan Drouin will watch from the press box. Tampa Bay is 9-4 when using this alignment and 5-5 when using the traditional lineup of 12 forwards and 6 defensemen. In addition to Drouin, Jonathan Marchessault, Valdislav Namestnikov and Mark Barberio will all be healthy scratches in Game 4.

In a last minute lineup change, Nikia Nesterov will draw back into the Tampa Bay lineup for Game 3 Monday night in Chicago.

Despite previous reports, the Lightning will go back to using seven defensemen and 11 forwards which means Nesterov is in and Jonathan Drouin is out. Nesterov has certainly earned his spot on defense having scored one goal and five assists with a plus five rating in 15 games this postseason. The 22-year-old defensemen played in Game 1 versus Chicago and saw just 6:23 of ice time so expect a similar role Monday night in Game 3.

One Tampa player that is blossoming before our eyes this playoffs is Nikita Nesterov.

The 22-year-old defenseman, who skated in only 27 games this past regular season, has shined in 10 playoff contest to date registering five points and playing a strong two-way game. "He's been taking steps all along, and you can see he feels more comfortable and more confident with the puck and making plays," teammate Anton Stralman said of Nesterov. "It's been fun watching him grow." Nesterov could find himself a regular as the Bolt's sixth blueliner next season. He has some upside making him a nice reserve roster pick.

Nikita Nesterov played 14:14 of ice time in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final on Wednesday night.

Nesterov, who has been serving as an extra defender when the Lightning dress seven blueliners, got some additional minutes because of an injury to Matt Carle. He contributed two assists in Tampa Bay's 6-5 overtime win and will likely fill in for Carle if he can't play Friday.

Nikita Nesterov ended his seven-game point drought when he picked up a pair of assists in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime Game 3 victory.

Nesterov contributed a interference minor, with a shot, hit, takeaway during his 14:14 of work in addition to his two assists. The rookie defender now has four assists and five points through 10 games this postseason.

Nikita Nesterov will dress for Game 2 Monday night in Madison Square Garden.

The Bolts will use the seventh defenseman for Game 2 Monday, which means Vladislav Namestnikov will be scratched. Nesterov has been a valuable asset for Tampa Bay during the 2015 playoffs, chipping in a goal and two helpers in the eight games he’s appeared in. Jonathan Drouin and Mark Barberio will remain healthy scratches. Drouin has played in only three games during the postseason and has yet to record a point while registering an ugly minus four rating in limited ice time. Barberio has yet to place this postseason.

Nikita Nesterov was made a late addition for Tuesday's Game Six against Montreal as Tampa Bay will go with seven defensemen.

Nesterov may have three points in seven games this postseason, but he has none since Game Two versus Detroit and hasn't played since Game One in this series.

Defensemen Nikita Nesterov and Mark Barberio will watch from the press box for Game 3 Wednesday night versus Montreal.

Nesterov has been not dressed against the Canadiens as of yet and with the Lightning taking the first two games of the series in Montreal, we can’t imagine them changing their lineup. He did play in six of the seven games versus Detroit in the first round and scored a goal and two helpers. Barberio has yet to play in a postseason game this season after skating in just two last year. In 52 regular season games, he only picked up a goal and six assists with a minus four rating.

It looks like the Tampa Bay Lightning will go into game two of their series against Montreal with the same lineup they used in game one.

That would mean that Nikita Nesterov, Mark Barberio and Jonathan Drouin will continue to sit for the Lightning. Tampa Bay is in a good spot right now as they defeated Montreal at the Bell Centre in game one, and they will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead on Sunday.

Nesterov had an impressive opening round against Ottawa with three points in six games, this comes after posting seven points in 27 regular season games during his rookie campaign. However this will his second straight game in the press box.

The Lightning will elect to dress seven defensemen and 11 forwards for Game 6, which means Nesterov will be back on the ice. Even though Nesterov was a helathy scratch in Game 5, he is still second on the team in scoring during the postseason. He’s registered a goal and two assists from the back-end with four shots on goal while averaging 13:40 of ice time a game. J.T Brown will be a healthy scratch to make room for Nesterov.
