Dylan DeMelo actually played in his first game of the season Wednesday.

DeMelo was a late addition to the lineup when David Schlemko fell ill just before the warmup. He played 13:26 and coach Peter DeBoer was quite impressed with the defenseman. "I thought Dylan DeMelo did an unbelievable job," DeBoer said. "To sit around for two months, and hasn't played a game since training camp. To jump in against that team and play the minutes he did and be as effective as he was is a great testament to him."
