Dylan DeMelo made his NHL debut Saturday night against the Islanders.

He is expected to be back in the lineup on Monday versus the Rangers. DeMelo logged 12:40 of ice time on the left side with Matt Tennyson. He normally plays on the right, but that's an adjustment that newer players often have to make.

The talented rookie DeMelo will have to remain patient before making his NHL debut, as he'll see his third straight game in stands.
Oct 16 - 6:30 PM

Dylan DeMelo was a healthy scratch against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.

While DeMelo comes in with some hype as an offensive defenseman, he hasn't topped 30 points from the blue line since scoring 15 goals and 50 points for the Mississauga Steelheads as a 19-year-old in the OHL. We'd wait until he proves himself a bit more before jumping on him.
Oct 13 - 7:35 PM

Dylan DeMelo has made San Jose's roster to start the 2015-16 campaign.

He posted five goals, 22 points and 35 penalty minutes in 65 games with AHL Worcester last year. DeMelo's NHL debut may come Wednesday night against Los Angeles.
Oct 6 - 3:34 PM

Dylan DeMelo potted the only goal for the Sharks in their 5-1 preseason loss to the Ducks on Saturday night.

DeMelo has yet to appear in an NHL game after being taken in the sixth round of the 2011 draft, but that is likely to change this season, perhaps immediately. The defenseman had five goals and 22 points in the AHL last season. Nikolay Goldobin had the assist. Alex Stalock had a rough night, making 34 saves on 39 shots.
Oct 3 - 11:41 PM

Dylan DeMelo has a real shot at cracking the San Jose blueline.

DeMelo has been very impressive during training camp and has played better than Matt Tennyson and Mirco Mueller. He could crack the lineup and actually start alongside Brenden Dillon according to Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area. DeMelo had only 22 points in 65 AHL games last season so do not expect him to be a fantasy asset.
Sep 27 - 9:30 AM

Dylan DeMelo is getting some early time with Brenden Dillon at training camp.

The first few days of training camp don’t cement any lines or pairings but this is an interesting pairing. DeMelo, 22, is about to start his third professional season. He had 22 points in 65 games at the AHL level last year. "This a great opportunity for me," DeMelo said. "I’m trying to take it and run with it and force the coaches to make a tough decision in the end to keep me here or send me down."
Sep 19 - 7:12 PM

The San Jose Sharks like what they've seen from prospect Dylan DeMelo.

DeMelo was recalled from the AHL last season, but he didn't suit up in an NHL game. "I think he looks really good," Barracuda coach Roy Sommer said at development camp in July. "This is his year. I think he’s going to come to camp and make a big splash. He’s a guy that you’re not going to fall in love with because he doesn’t wow you with anything, but he’s as steady as you’re going to get." The 22-year-old had five goals and 22 points in 65 AHL games last season. Even if he does crack San Jose's opening day lineup, he isn't likely to put up a ton of points.
