Columbus summoned Anton Forsberg on Friday from AHL Cleveland.

He's been sensational down on the farm this season. Forsberg has posted a 14-10-2 record with a .927 save percentage as well as a 2.23 GAA.
Feb 10 - 2:51 PM

Anton Forsberg was sent back to AHL Cleveland on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has seen the lion's share of action down on the farm. He's posted a 13-9-2 record with a .926 save percentage and a 2.28 GAA thus far with the Monsters. He allowed four goals on 23 shots in his only NHL action this season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have promoted Anton Forsberg.

Netminder Joonas Korpisalo was sent to the minors in a corresponding move. This could be a sign that Forsberg will serve as the team's backup for now, but it might also just be an opportunity to let Korpisalo get in some extra work while Columbus isn't playing anyways. We'll have to wait until after the All-Star break to find out if the Blue Jackets intend to use Forsberg or Korpisalo as the team's backup goalie going forward.
Jan 27 - 5:26 PM

The Blue Jackets reassigned Anton Forsberg to AHL Cleveland on Sunday.

Columbus doesn't play until Tuesday when they host Carolina, and it looks like they anticipate Sergei Bobrovsky being able to at least back up Joonas Korpisalo.
Jan 15 - 2:36 PM

Columbus has recalled Anton Forsberg on an emergency basis for Saturday's match with Florida.

Through 22 games with AHL Cleveland this season, the young netminder has posted a 12-6-2 record along with a .930 save percentage and a 2.14 GAA.
Jan 14 - 1:57 PM

Anton Forsberg allowed four goals on 27 shots in Columbus' 5-3 loss to Carolina.

Forsberg got the start because Sergei Bobrovsky was out with an illness. Clearly, Bobrovsky shouldn't be worried about losing his job. After rattling off 16 wins in a row, the Blue Jackets have now dropped three of their last four contests. With Curtis McElhinney now in Toronto, there's a good chance Forsberg will be the team's backup goalie.
Jan 10 - 10:34 PM

Anton Forsberg will be in goal for Columbus on Tuesday against Carolina.

Sergei Bobrovsky is out with an illness, so Forberg will get his first NHL action of the season. He had a 1-3-0 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in four outings with the big club last year. However, Forsberg has made excellent progress in the AHL this campaign.
Jan 10 - 12:40 PM

Anton Forsberg was summoned by the Blue Jackets in part because of his strength in the minors.

"Based on merit right now, we feel it’s Forsberg that deserves to be called up," Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen said. "You look at his stats and his wins, all those things, he’s played excellent there. He deserves a chance to show what he can do at this level based on the AHL playoffs last spring, but also his continued excellent play." Forsberg has a 2.16 GAA and .930 save percentage in 21 AHL games this season. It'll be interesting to see what he can do, but our short-term expectations for him aren't high. The reason for that has little to do with Forsberg though. We simply expect that the Blue Jackets will continue to lean heavily on Sergei Bobrovsky, preventing Forsberg from getting the playing time necessary to have much relevance in standard fantasy leagues.
Jan 10 - 4:27 AM

Anton Forsberg has been called up by Columbus.

He is expected to serve as Sergei Bobrovsky's backup because it is being reported that Curtis McElhinney will be placed on waivers this afternoon.
Jan 9 - 10:58 AM

Anton Forsberg has been sent to AHL Cleveland.

Forsberg had been hoping to earn a roster spot with the Blue Jackets as Sergei Bobrovsky's understudy, but the competition for that role was significant. In order to get it, he would have had to best Joonas Korpisalo, who had a .920 save percentage in 31 games with Columbus last season, and veteran Curtis McElhinney, who is inked to a one-way contract.

After excelling in the AHL last season, Anton Forsberg's task is demonstrate he can translate that success to the next level.

Forsberg helped the Lake Erie Monsters win the Calder Cup in 2016, but when it comes to his work with Columbus, the 23-year-old goalie has a 4.01 GAA and .882 save percentage in nine career games. "I just need to bring my game up here and play (it) with the same confidence that I did at the end of last season," Forsberg said. "That’s the big part. It’s all about trusting your game and that’s what I’m going to keep doing. It worked out well in the playoffs." He's in a three-way competition to serve as the Blue Jackets' backup at the start of the 2016-17 campaign. Even if he doesn't end up winning that battle, it should just be a matter of time before he gets his next shot with the Blue Jackets.

Anton Forsberg turned aside all 21 shots he faced against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

Forsberg was only scheduled to play in the first half of the exhibition game, but thanks to his efforts Columbus had a 1-0 lead through that stretch despite being outshot a stunning 21-4. He was replaced by Joonas Korpisalo, who went on to allow two goals on seven shots. Forsberg is competing with Korpisalo and Curtis McElhinney for the backup gig.

Anton Forsberg has inked a one-year, two-way extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Forsberg had a 3.03 GAA and .907 save percentage in four contests with Columbus in 2015-16. The 23-year-old netminder was far more notable with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters as he led them to a Calder Cup championship with his 1.34 GAA and .949 save percentage in 10 playoff games.
