Anton Forsberg (knee) won't participate in this weekend's rookie tournament in Traverse City, Michigan.

Forsberg had arthroscopic knee surgery in July, and he's being held out of the prospect tournament as a precaution. He should be ready to return once training camp gets underway on September 18th. Forsberg is expected to be the team's number one goalie in Lake Erie (AHL) this season.
Sep 12 - 10:37 AM

Anton Forsberg has been demoted to the minors.

He has struggled at the NHL level this season and was sent down after surrendering four goals on 31 shots to Buffalo on Tuesday night. In five appearances this season with Columbus, he has a 0-4-0 record to go with an .866 save percentage and a 4.69 goals-against average. Forsberg has excelled with Springfield in the AHL this year and he'll return there to work on his game.
Feb 25 - 2:47 PM

Anton Forsberg's NHL struggles continued Tuesday as he allowed four goals on 31 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Sabres.

The first handful of games in Forsberg's career have been nothing short of a disaster, but it would be foolish to write him off based on such a small sample. He sports a record of 0-4-0, a 4.71 GAA and an .866 save percentage.
Feb 24 - 11:07 PM

Anton Forsberg will start for the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Forsberg has a 4.85 GAA and .864 save percentage in four games this season. While there's no denying that his NHL career has gotten off to a rough start, he has a lot of upside and will be facing the offensively anemic Buffalo Sabres.
Feb 24 - 11:46 AM

Anton Forsberg made 40 saves, but they weren’t nearly enough in the Blue Jackets’ 6-3 oss to the Islanders on Saturday night.

Forsberg gave up two goals in the first, one in the second and three in the third period. It wasn’t like he got a lot of help from his defense, though. The 22-year-old was making his first start since Feb. 3, and he’s yet to win in four games this season. Forsberg has a 4.85 goals-against average and .864 save percentage.
Feb 14 - 9:51 PM

Anton Forsberg will get the start against the New York Islanders on Saturday night.

Forsberg's NHL career is not off to a good start. In three starts he's been pulled once and holds an 0-2-0 record with 10 goals against on just 72 total shots. But if you compare that with his 18-7-1 record with just 54 goals against in 27 games for AHL Springfield, and suddenly the 22 year old Sweedish rookie looks a lot more promising. You may be able to find a more favorable goalie matchup tonight, but keep this young stud in mind moving forward.
Feb 14 - 4:57 PM

Anton Forsberg struggled in his third start of the season Tuesday night, allowing thee goals on 28 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Coyotes.

Forsberg now possesses a lackluster 0-2-0 record to go along with an ugly 4.35 GAA and an .861 save percentage. Curtis McElhinney's hold on the starting job in Sergei Bobrovsky's absence seems to be tightening by the minute.
Feb 3 - 10:51 PM

Anton Forsberg will be between the pipes for Columbus on Tuesday night.

Curtis McElhinney started three straight games for the Blue Jackets after Sergei Bobrovsky got hurt and coach Todd Richards didn't want Forsberg to sit any longer. McElhinney has one win in those three outings and he's lost two in a row, so he's left the door open for Forsberg to get some playing time if he has a strong showing against Arizona.
Feb 3 - 11:25 AM

Anton Forsberg has been summoned from the minors.

Columbus placed Sergei Bobrovsky on injured reserve Monday after learning that he's expected to miss four-to-six weeks because of a groin injury. Forsberg, who has excelled during his rookie season with AHL Springfield, will share the crease with Curtis McElhinney while Bobrovsky is sidelined.
Jan 26 - 12:30 PM

With Sergei Bobrovsky out for "a while" with a right groin injury, goalie sensation Anton Forsberg is expected to be recalled after the All-Star break.

The 22 year old Forberg is having monster of a season for AHL Springfield. He's pitched a 18-5-1 record with a .930 save percentage and miniscule 1.96 GAA. While one should take minor league stats with a grain of salt, Blue Jackets' backup Curtis McElhinney doesn't lend much confidence with his 4-6-1 record, .907 save percentage and 2.98 GAA.

Anton Forsberg has returned to the AHL Springfield Falcons.

Forsberg was with the Blue Jackets on an emergency basis because Sergei Bobrovsky was dealing with an illness. Bobrovsky is feeling better now and will likely start on Wednesday.

The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled goalie Anton Forsberg on an emergency basis.

With Sergei Bobrovsky hurt, the Blue Jackets need someone to back up Curtis McElhinney, so Forsberg will be that guy while not counting against Columbus' 23-man roster. It's unclear if Forsberg will see any action or just serve as insurance for McElhinney.
Sat, Dec 27, 2014 02:53:00 PM

Anton Forsberg has gone 6-0-0 since he was reassigned to the minors.

Forsberg now has a 2.02 GAA and .928 save percentage in nine AHL contests in 2014-15. His strong play isn't likely to earn him a promotion. Instead, it would probably take an injury to get him back in the NHL in 2014-15. He shouldn't be dismissed as a possibility for the backup job in 2015-16 though.
Fri, Nov 28, 2014 10:07:00 AM

Anton Forsberg will head to AHL Springfield.

Forsberg has been serving as Curtis McElhinney's understudy while Sergei Bobrovsky recovered from a finger injury. Bobrovsky is healthy enough to return on Friday so there's no longer a need for Forsberg on the active roster. Forsberg had a 5.32 GAA and .841 save percentage in two games with Columbus.
