Anton Forsberg has gone 6-0-0 since he was reassigned to the minors.
Forsberg now has a 2.02 GAA and .928 save percentage in nine AHL contests in 2014-15. His strong play isn't likely to earn him a promotion. Instead, it would probably take an injury to get him back in the NHL in 2014-15. He shouldn't be dismissed as a possibility for the backup job in 2015-16 though. Nov 28 - 10:07 AM

Date:

Anton Forsberg will head to AHL Springfield.

Forsberg has been serving as Curtis McElhinney's understudy while Sergei Bobrovsky recovered from a finger injury. Bobrovsky is healthy enough to return on Friday so there's no longer a need for Forsberg on the active roster. Forsberg had a 5.32 GAA and .841 save percentage in two games with Columbus.
Nov 14 - 3:06 PM

Anton Forsberg didn’t make it past the first period in the Blue Jackets’ 7-4 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday night.

Making his second NHL start, the 21-year-old was roughed up for four goals on 15 shots. Curtis McElhinney came in for the second and third periods and kicked aside 20 of 22 shots he faced. The injury-ravaged Blue Jackets have now lost eight games in a row. It’s quite unfortunate for a team with such high expectations heading into the season.
Nov 8 - 9:55 PM

Anton Forsberg is in net for the Blue Jackets on Saturday night against the Lightning.

The 21-year-old will be making his second NHL start. He lost his first one last Saturday, giving up three goals on 26 shots. The Blue Jackets have lost seven games in a row.
Nov 8 - 7:17 PM

Anton Forsberg made 26 saves in his NHL debut, a 3-2 loss to the Devils on Saturday night.

All things considered, not a terrible effort for a 21-year-old making his debut on the road. Forsberg had a .921 save percentage in three games in the AHL, after a .919 mark in the Swedish Hockey League (22 games) last season. Curtis McElhinney will probably get the next start, Tuesday against the Hurricanes, with Sergei Bobrovsky (finger) on the sidelines.
Nov 1 - 11:40 PM

It looks like Anton Forsberg will make his NHL debut on Saturday night.

Forsberg was the first goaltender off the ice during the Jackets’ morning skate. Forsberg is with Columbus because of the injury to starter Sergei Bobrovsky.
Nov 1 - 12:23 PM

Netminder Anton Forsberg could be making his NHL debut on Saturday.

Coach Todd Richards said it was possible when asked after Friday's game with Toronto. Richards was not pleased with the 'puck-exchanges' between Curtis McElhinney and his blueliners Friday so he could go with Forsberg. Forsberg was recalled when Sergei Bobrovsky fractured a finger earlier in the week.
Nov 1 - 5:48 AM

Anton Forsberg has been called up by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Forsberg was summoned earlier this month because Curtis McElhinney was dealing with a head/neck injury. Now McElhinney is healthy, but Sergei Bobrovsky has a fractured finger.

Oct 19 - 12:26 PM

The Columbus Blue Jackets could recall goaltender Anton Forsberg from the minors to replace the injured Curtis McElhinney.

McElhinney suffered a head injury on Saturday and as of now there is no update on his health. If he is unable to go, then Sergei Bobrovsky will need a backup and Forsberg is the likely candidate. Forsberg is 1-2 with a 2.36 GAA and .921 save percentage in three starts for Springfield of the AHL.
Oct 19 - 5:49 AM

The Columbus Blue Jackets have sent eight players including goaltender Anton Forsberg to the minors.

Also sent down were: Lukas Sedlak, Trent Vogelhuber, Riley Wetmore, Hubert Labrie and Thomas Larkin, to Springfield of the AHL, while Nick Moutrey (Saginaw) and Dillon Heatherington (Swift Current) were sent to their respective CHL teams.
Sep 27 - 6:28 AM

Anton Forsberg has reportedly inked a three-year, entry-level deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Forsberg was taken with the 188th pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He had a 2.04 GAA and .933 save percentage in 33 games in Allsvenskan, which is Sweden's second-highest league.
