Anton Forsberg has been returned to the minors.

He didn't see any action in his recent NHL call-up, while backing up Joonas Korpisalo, but he has appeared in four games with the Blue Jackets this season. Forsberg will get some playing time in the minors because Curtis McElhinney is ready to return from injury.

Anton Forsberg has been summoned back up to Columbus.

Forsberg has turned away 88 of 97 combined shots in four games for the Blue Jackets this season, but has won just one of those games. He's also sporting a 13-8-3 record down on the farm in Lake Erie, where he also sports a .907 save percentage and 2.58 GAA.
Jan 31 - 2:21 PM

Anton Forsberg has been loaned to the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters.

According to GM Jarmo Kekalainen, Forsberg is being sent down for conditioning purposes. He'll probably return to the Blue Jackets after the break if Curtis McElhinney isn't ready to play.
Jan 27 - 4:25 PM

The Columbus Blue Jackets have promoted Anton Forsberg on an emergency basis.

That promotion is in response to Sergei Bobrovsky going down with a lower-body injury. The Blue Jackets are also missing Curtis McElhinney, so Forsberg will share the goaltending duties with Joonas Korpisalo.
Jan 22 - 12:57 PM

Anton Forsberg has been sent to the minors.

Sergei Bobrovsky has been activated off of the injured reserve list, so Anton Forsberg's services were no longer needed. Forsberg has a 3.03 GAA and .907 save percentage in four contests with Columbus this season.
Jan 15 - 2:40 PM

Anton Forsberg allowed four goals on 32 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders.

Brock Nelson dominated the scoresheet tonight as he scored two goals on Forsberg (he also added an empty netter). Forsberg hasn't had an ideal start to his NHL career, but the team in front of him isn't very good. The 23-year-old has a 1-3-0 record with a 3.03 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage this season.
Jan 12 - 10:08 PM

Anton Forsberg will be between the pipes for Columbus on Tuesday night.

He will face the New York Islanders in his third start of the season. Forsberg has lost his previous two appearances, but he didn't play poorly in either of them. However, his only win so far with the Blue Jackets came when he entered the game against Washington in relief.
Jan 12 - 11:21 AM

Anton Forsberg allowed three goals on 28 shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 23-year-old has been pressed into duty because of the injuries to Sergei Bobrovsky and Curtis McElhinney. Forsberg has a 1-2-0 record with a 2.48 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage this season.
Jan 8 - 10:32 PM

The Columbus Blue Jackets will start Anton Forsberg Friday night.

Jan 8 - 11:50 AM

Anton Forsberg stopped 26 of 28 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

Forsberg will certainly want the first goal back. A snap shot from Wild captain Zach Parise beat the 23-year-old netminder minutes before the end of the first period. In his first regular season start of the season, Forsberg also registered his first loss, bringing his record to 1-1-0 with a 1.90 goals-against-average and a .946 save percentage.

Jan 5 - 12:10 PM

Anton Forsberg will probably play between the pipes on Tuesday.

Forsberg might get an opportunity to get quite a bit of work in with Columbus as Sergei Bobrovsky and Curtis McElhinney are both sidelined. Forsberg has a 2.60 GAA and .900 save percentage in 21 AHL contests in 2015-16.
Jan 5 - 4:51 AM

Anton Forsberg's first victory wasn't just unusual, it was apparently historic too.

Forsberg, who played in five games with Columbus last season and posted an 0-4-0 record, was called up on Saturday to backup Curtis McElhinney. However, McElhinney was hurt during the overtime period, so Forsberg was sent in and went on to win in overtime. Apparently he is the first goalie in the history of the league to get his first victory in a game where he relieved the starting netminder after regulation time, per the Elias Sports Bureau. Given that McElhinney and Sergei Bobrovsky might be out for a while, Forsberg is likely going to get an opportunity to earn a more traditional win in the near future.
Jan 4 - 5:35 AM

Anton Forsberg picked up an unusual first NHL win Saturday, a 5-4 shootout victory for the Blue Jackets against the Capitals.

Forsberg entered the game with 4:05 left in overtime after Curtis McIlhinney suffered a knee injury. Forsberg stopped all six shots he faced, then two of the three shots in the shootout. Not only that, it was his first appearance for CBJ this season as he was recalled Saturday when Sergei Bobrovsky was put back on the injured reserve list.
