Michael Raffl is planning on representing Austria in the upcoming 2015 World Championship.

For Raffl it's an opportunity to play something other than the left wing, which was his primary position this season. "You play against the best players in the world," Raffl said. "I get to play a lot, maybe even as a centerman. I grew up with players who have played for the national team." Raffl has 20 goals and 26 points in 61 contests this season.
Apr 1 - 10:10 AM

Michael Raffl scored his 17th goal in Philadelphia's 4-1 loss Vancouver on Tuesday.

Raffl tipped in a nice slap pass from Claude Giroux for the Flyers' only score on the evening. With 17 goals in his second year in the NHL, Raffl is an interesting dynasty prospect to look at. He was playing with Wayne Simmonds and Claude Giroux tonight which makes him relevant in the fantasy world right now. His 17 goals in 57 games is a very nice jump from nine in 68 games in his rookie season last year.

Michael Raffl scored and picked up a rare assist in the Flyers 7-4 win on Saturday.

Raffl has nine goals and two assists in 24 games this season. He is seeing time on the first line during five-on-five situations with Claude Giroux and Jakob Voracek but has seen only 10:29 minutes on the power play all season so his fantasy value takes a bit of a hit.

Michael Raffl saw time late in the game on the top line with Jakub Voracek and Claude Giroux.

Raffl started the game with Scott Laughton and Wayne Simmonds but coach Craig Berube was not happy with the play of Brayden Schenn on Friday so he made the switch in the third. "I like Brayden Schenn there, I just didn’t like it tonight so I tried Raffl there at the end," Berube said. "That’s obviously an option. Raffl is a guy I went to in the past and it’s worked." If Raffl sees time on the first line then his fantasy value should soar.
