Michael Raffl's campaign has featured a wild swing.
Raffl recorded no points in his first 21 contests, but now has five goals and eight points in his last nine games. A big reason for that swing has been the opportunities he's been getting lately. Raffl averaged a mere 10:55 minutes per game while he went through his prolonged season-opening point drought, but he's averaged over 15 minutes per contest over his last nine games. He's not a bad gamble right now, though there's no guarantee that he won't just fizzle out. Dec 15 - 7:33 AM

Date:

Michael Raffl is on a four-game point streak.

Raffl kept that run going by registering an assist in the Flyers' 4-2 win against Toronto on Tuesday. This hot streak has been a deviation from the norm this season as he still has just five goals and eight points in 30 contests.
Dec 13 - 5:23 AM

Michael Raffl has been thriving on the second line since his promotion from a bottom-six forward.

Raffl scored all three game winning goals on the Flyers trip to Western Canada this past week. The winger is now playing alongside Valtteri Filppula and Jakub Voracek as coach Dave Hakstol moved Voracek down and Wayne Simmonds up to the first unit to get some more scoring. It's working as the Flyers are on a three game winning streak after not finding the win column in their previous 10 games. Raffl has five goals and seven points in 29 games so he still has to show some more on the ice to be fantasy-worthy.
Dec 11 - 7:02 AM

Michael Raffl has scored the game-winning goal in each of the Flyers' last three games.

That's a pretty remarkable accomplishment, especially for a player that doesn't typically contribute offensively. Even after his three-game goal scoring streak, Raffl still has just five goals and seven points in 29 contests this season.
Dec 8 - 5:05 AM

Michael Raffl posted a goal with an assist and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 5-2 win at Calgary.

Raffl's goal stood up as the game-winning tally, his first of the season. He has posted three goals with five points over the past six contests. He is a bottom-six forward who has been hot lately, but he isn't someone to rely upon in standard fantasy play. He isn't a bad low-priced DFS option while running hot, however.
Dec 5 - 12:11 AM

Michael Raffl scored and picked up an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Raffl scored a remarkable goal by stripping the puck from a Penguin in the defensive zone before outmuscling Phil Kessel to the net and beating Jarry with a beautiful move. The 28-year-old Raffl, has only three points in 24 games and should not be owned in any format.
Nov 27 - 10:33 PM

Michael Raffl scored a goal in the Flyers' 4-3 overtime loss to the Islanders Wednesday night.

With that, Raffl ended a scoring drought that went all the way back to Jan. 7. His single goal and no assists in 22 games is particularly bad, but he's not known for his offensive production to begin with. Even in a best case scenario he doesn't get much more than 30 points and we don't expect him to finish close to that milestone in 2017-18.
Nov 23 - 6:47 AM

Michael Raffl has gone pointless in his last 41 games dating back to last season.

Raffl hasn't earned a point in 20 games this campaign. "Anybody who has watched our team play knows that Raf has played extremely well from the start of the year," coach Dave Hakstol said. "He doesn't have much to show for it offensively, and I'm sure it's frustrating for him. He's played very, very well, and he doesn't need to change his game at all. ... He just has to stay with it and the points, the rewards, will come." Raffl is slated to play with Valtteri Filppula and Travis Konecny on the third line against Vancouver on Tuesdaynight.
Nov 21 - 4:11 PM

Michael Raffl was not protected by Philadelphia for the expansion draft.

Raffl generated just 11 points in 52 games last season after he had 31 points in 82 matches in 2015-16. However, goaltender Michal Neuvirth or forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare may interest the Golden Knights more than Raffl.

Michal Raffl will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks with a lower body injury.

He is likely done for the season. Through 52 games he has posted eight goals and 11 points with 91 hits.
Mar 1 - 4:31 PM

Michael Raffl exited Tuesday's game against Colorado with a lower-body injury.

The Flyers have already announced that he won't be returning to the game. We'll provide an update on his status as soon as the team makes one available. He's day-to-day for the time being.
Feb 28 - 9:27 PM

Michael Raffl is trying to stay patient as he endured a 15-game point scoring drought.

"I would love to contribute more," Raffl said. "I’m capable of scoring more goals. I’m not happy with me not scoring goals, that’s not it. But you’ve got to stay patient. … It’s going to come." He has eight goals and 11 points in 46 contests this season. At his height in 2014-15 he scored 21 goals in 67 games.
Feb 15 - 5:39 AM

Michal Raffl now has points in consecutive games thanks to the goal he picked up in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Lightning.

With 11 points in 31 games, Raffl is a nice depth piece for both you and the Flyers. He's coming up on 100 career points, with 92 through the first 248 games of his career.
Jan 7 - 5:09 PM

Michael Raffl (lower body) is available Friday.

Raffl didn't play in Wednesday's contest due to the ailment. Look for him to play alongside Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek.

Michael Raffl is slated to miss one-to-two weeks with a lower-body injury.

He was hurt in last Thursday's game against New Jersey just before the holiday break. Raffl's spot on the top line will have to be filled Wednesday against St. Louis. Matt Read could be an option if he is ready to return from injury.
