The Rangers expect Antti Raanta (lower body) to be out for 7-10 days.

There was no update as to the status of Antti Raanta (lower body) after Saturday's game.

Raanta was injured in the first period and did not return for the start of the second. Hopefully, there will be an update on Sunday but do not be surprised if the Rangers are forced to recall Magnus Hellberg from their AHL affiliate in Hartford. Raanta was perfect on 10 shots Saturday and is 10-4-0 with a 2.23 GAA and a .923 save percentage. He has been a must-own especially if you also have Henrik Lundqvist.

The Rangers will go with Antti Raanta between the pipes on Saturday against Montreal.

Jan 14 - 5:39 PM

Antti Raanta made 18 saves on 21 shots but still picked up the win for Rangers.

Making his third start in the last four games for the Rangers, Raanta did allow a two goal lead to slip away in the third period but the Rangers iced it late with three unanswered goals. He's gotten the job done nicely enough in relief of Lundqvist this year, posting 10 wins, a 2.28 GAA and .921 save percentage in 17 appearances.

Antti Raanta will play between the pipes on Thursday.

It will be Raanta's third start in the Rangers' last four games. Henrik Lundqvist probably won't be available because of an illness, but it sounds like at the most Lundqvist will serve as the backup.

Don't be surprised if Antti Raanta gets another start on Thursday.

He got the call in Tuesday's game against Ottawa because Henrik Lundqvist was out with an illness. Although Lundqvist is doing better, he probably won't be ready for tonight's game in Arizona. Raanta has a 9-4-0 record with a 2.23 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage this season.

Raanta got the start because Henrik Lundqvist was out with an illness. The win puts an end to his personal three-game losing skid. The Rangers went down 2-0 and 3-1, but managed to fight back to win in regulation. Raanta now has a 9-4-0 record with a 2.23 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage.

Antti Raanta allowed two goals on 26 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Raanta made his fourth consecutive start tonight, which was news because it meant Henrik Lundqvist would serve as his backup again. Raanta came up with a few important saves tonight, but he ultimately fell just short. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Rangers go back to Lundqvist now that Raanta was in goal for a loss. The Rangers backup has an 8-2-0 record with a 1.69 goals-against-average and a .941 save percentage in 2016-17.

He has gone 151 minutes without allowing a goal and has posted three straight wins. "He deserves to play," said coach Alain Vigneault. Henrik Lundqvist will sit on the bench for a fourth straight contest, as the Rangers continue to ride the hot hand of Raanta.
