Antti Raanta's recent play must be giving the Rangers trepidation.
Raanta has given up 14 goals in his last three starts and with the Rangers playing six back-to-back games over the remainder of the season, there has to be some concern about his play and looking for another backup before the deadline. Raanta is 4-4-2 with a 2.57 GAA and a .902 save percentage. Feb 13 - 10:31 AM

Antti Raanta was the first goaltender off the ice following the Rangers' morning skate.

Coach Alain Vigneault said on Monday that goaltender Antti Raanta will play about once a week for the next month.

The last time that Raanta saw the crease was on January 17, over three weeks ago but the Rangers have four back-to-back games over the next month so it makes sense to rest Henrik Lundqvist from time-to-time. Raanta is 4-4-1 with a 2.30 GAA and a .909 save percentage so it is hard owning him in weekly transaction pools.

"I went to bed (Saturday) and it was pretty much was jammed," Raanta said. "There wasn't any good position. I came to the rink and for a couple of hours got treatment and it started to get better after that straight away. This morning I went on the ice and it felt pretty normal. It happens sometimes." He will be on the bench Monday night, as Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start.
Jan 11 - 3:58 PM

As reported earlier, Antti Raanta will in fact be healthy enough to back up Henrik Lundqvist Monday night against the Predators.

He has been off the last 10 days due to concussion symptoms after taking a shot in the helmet against the Wild on November 17th. If you need Raanta, feel free to activate him.
