Antti Raanta could be taken in the expansion draft by the Vegas Golden Knights.
New York will obviously protect Henrik Lundqvist and Raanta has an affordable cap hit of $1 million for the 2017-18 season. "Of course every goalie in this business wants to be the No. 1 guy," Raanta said. "That's the dream, to one day be the No. 1 guy. So need to work hard in the summer and you never know what happens." Apr 12 - 10:16 AM

Antti Raanta has been sidelined with minor knee injury, and won't play in Sunday's regular season finale against Pittsburgh.

He took a puck off his knee in practice but is expected to be ready for Game 1. His regular season ends with a 16-8-2 record with a .922 save percentage and a 2.26 GAA.
Apr 9 - 5:16 PM

Antti Raanta will get the nod on Sunday.

That will keep Raanta as fresh as possible in case the Rangers have to call upon him in the playoffs. He has a 2.27 GAA and .922 save percentage in 29 games this season.
Apr 7 - 3:20 PM

The Los Angeles Kings fired plenty of pucks at Antti Raanta, but he couldn't be beaten as the New York Rangers won 3-0 on Saturday.

Raanta made 30 saves for his fourth shutout of 2016-17. He bumps his record to 16-8-2 on the season. He continues to build a case that he's one of the best options in net among NHL backups.
Mar 26 - 1:11 AM

Antti Raanta is expected to start on Saturday.

Henrik Lundqvist will then play between the pipes on Sunday. Raanta has a 2.35 GAA and .919 save percentage in 29 games in 2016-17.
Mar 25 - 6:07 PM

Antti Raanta allowed three goals on 28 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders.

The Rangers held a 2-1 lead going into the third period, but back-to-back goals by forwards Nikolay Kulemin and Andrew Ladd put the Isles ahead. The Rangers aren't in any danger of missing the playoffs, but they've now dropped seven consecutive games at home. Thankfully, it sounds like Henrik Lundqvist is close to returning to action. Raanta has dropped four of his last five games and he's given up three goals or more in five of his last seven contests.
Mar 22 - 11:30 PM

Antti Raanta will be between the pipes again Wednesday night.

He was in goal for a 3-2 overtime loss versus the Devils on Tuesday. Raanta has one victory in his last four starts (1-1-2), but he has allowed three goals or less in each of past five outings. Henrik Lundqvist should be back this weekend, but Raanta will probably make another appearance against either Los Angeles or Anaheim.
Mar 22 - 12:38 PM

Antti Raanta allowed three goals on 29 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The Rangers never held a lead in this game, but they managed to come away with a point in the standings anyway. Raanta has a 15-7-2 record with a 2.32 goals-against-average and a .920 save percentage. He has three losses in his last four contests.
Mar 21 - 10:38 PM

Antti Raanta will remain in net against the Devils on Tuesday.

Raanta has been a mixed bag of results since taking over the net in Henrik Lundqvist's wake. Raanta's gone 2-2-1 with a .903 save percentage and 13 goals against in that span. It's worth noting that he's gone 2-0 in two games against New Jersey with a shutout and three goals against on 57 combined shots.
Mar 21 - 5:24 PM

Antti Raanta gave up two goals on 27 shots Saturday night as the Rangers beat the Wild by a margin of 3-2.

Raanta has been on a seesaw in the Month of March. With a record of 3-2-1, he alternated regulation wins and defeats until the March 17 shootout overtime loss to the Panthers. That was his second consecutive loss. Saturday’s win put him on the high side again, but it is not predictive of how he will play in his next outing.
Mar 19 - 12:57 AM

It'll be Antti Raanta in net for the Rangers as they take on the Wild on Saturday.

Considering it's either him or Magnus Hellberg, the decision to give Raanta both ends of the back-to-back isn't surprising. He stopped 37 shots in the 4-3 shootout loss to the Panthers on Friday. He has a 14-7-1 record with a 2.31 GAA and a .921 save percentage.
Mar 18 - 5:03 PM

Antti Raanta allowed three goals on 37 shots in Friday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers.

The Rangers spotted Raanta a 2-0 lead in the first period, but they fell behind 3-2 in the third frame. New York tied the game with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation before eventually losing 1-0 in the shootout. Raanta has a 14-7-1 record with a 2.31 goals-against-average and a .921 save percentage.
Mar 17 - 10:22 PM

Antti Raanta will get the start on Friday.

No real surprise there given that Henrik Lundqvist is sidelined. Raanta has a 2.30 GAA and .921 save percentage in 24 contests this season.
Mar 16 - 2:31 PM

Rangers goalie Antti Raanta, filling in for the injured Henrik Lundqvist (hip), was on the losing side of a 3-2 decision against the Tampa Bay Lightning in New York Monday night.

Only 16 shots were fired on Raanta and he allowed three of them into the net. Raanta hasn't been playing badly, stopping 23 of the 24 shots taken at him by Detroit in a 4-1 win over the Red Wings Sunday, but his record Monday fell to 14-7-0. His goals-against average is now at 2.29 and his save percentage in 24 games is now .921.
