Antti Raanta made 18 saves in the Blackhawks’ 2-0 loss to the Sharks on Saturday night.
Making his first start since Jan. 20, and third in January, Raanta was generally excellent, except for the juicy rebound he let up on a Matt Irwin shot that led to Melker Karlsson’s goal. The final goal went in via the empty net. Raanta has a 1.80 goals-against average and .939 save percentage this season. Feb 1 - 1:14 AM

Look for Antti Raanta to get the start Saturday night against San Jose.

The Blackhawks played Friday night and won against the Ducks 4-1 with Corey Crawford making 21 saves. So it is likely that Raanta will get the call in the second of back-to-back contests. In his last start on January 21st, Raanta was sharp stopping 35 shots in a 6-1 win over Phoenix.
Jan 31 - 12:34 PM

Antti Raanta cruised to an easy victory over the Coyotes Tuesday as he blocked 35 of 36 shots in a 6-1 result.

Raanta was supported generously by his teammates in the outing so he didn't really need to be that sharp to earn a victory, however he continued his season-long trend and turned in a good performance. His 7-3-0 record in limited action is accompanied by a 1.87 GAA and a .938 save percentage.
Jan 21 - 1:57 AM

Antti Raanta will be between the pipes for Chicago on Tuesday against Arizona.

The backup netminder was shelled for four goals on 21 shots against Edmonton in his last outing, but he has been solid this season when called upon. Raanta owns a 6-3-0 record to go with a .934 save percentage and a 1.96 goals-against average. Corey Crawford will probably be back in Chicago's crease for Wednesday's road match versus Pittsburgh.
Jan 20 - 12:46 PM

Antti Raanta allowed five on just 21 shots in the Blackhawks' 5-2 to Oilers on Friday night.

The fifth goal was an empty-netter, but one could make a strong argument that the Blackhawks skaters hung Raanta out to dry more than once. Either way, it was by far the worst start of Raanta's season.
Jan 10 - 1:36 AM

Antti Raanta will start for Chicago in Edmonton on Friday night.

Through 27 career starts and 34 games, Raanta has been scored on just 78 times on nearly 900 shots. This gives him a career .911 save percentage and 2.44 GAA. Raanta stopped 18-20 shots in his one start against the Oilers in January of 2014. Expect good things if you start him.
Jan 9 - 7:40 PM

Antti Raanta made 31 saves in Sunday's 4-0 win over Toronto.

Raanta has now won five consecutive starts. The 25-year-old has started three of Chicago's last four games but that will change with Corey Crawford back in the fold for the Hawks. Raanta is 6-2-0 with a 1.76 goals-against-average and a .945 save percentage.

Antti Raanta wasn't exceptional Tuesday, but he was good enough to earn a 5-3 win over the Wild.

Rant allowed three goals on 29 shots in the victory, which is his fourth consecutive win. Both he and Scott Darling have performed admirably in the absence of starter Corey Crawford and the two netminders look to be sharing goaltending duties for the foreseeable future. Raanta's record in seven starts is a solid 5-2-0 while his GAA is 2.01 and his save percentage is a solid .938.

Antti Raanta stopped 23 of 24 shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over Calgary.

Raanta now extends his personal winning streak to three games. The 25-year-old hasn't played very much this season, and there were rumblings that Scott Darling might overtake him for the backup job. Raanta is now 4-2-0 this season with a 1.85 goals-against-average and a .944 save percentage. Once Corey Crawford returns, it'll be interesting to see what the Blackhawks do with their backup goaltending situation.

Prior to these two starts, Raanta hadn't played since October 25th. He is 3-2-0 on the season with a 2.02 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage.
