Antti Raanta wasn't exceptional Tuesday, but he was good enough to earn a 5-3 win over the Wild.
Rant allowed three goals on 29 shots in the victory, which is his fourth consecutive win. Both he and Scott Darling have performed admirably in the absence of starter Corey Crawford and the two netminders look to be sharing goaltending duties for the foreseeable future. Raanta's record in seven starts is a solid 5-2-0 while his GAA is 2.01 and his save percentage is a solid .938. Dec 17 - 1:24 AM

Raanta now extends his personal winning streak to three games. The 25-year-old hasn't played very much this season, and there were rumblings that Scott Darling might overtake him for the backup job. Raanta is now 4-2-0 this season with a 1.85 goals-against-average and a .944 save percentage. Once Corey Crawford returns, it'll be interesting to see what the Blackhawks do with their backup goaltending situation.

Dec 5 - 10:16 AM

Goalie Antti Raanta, who hadn't played an NHL game since Oct. 25, was spectacular in the Chicago Blackhawks' 4-1 victory over the visiting St. Louis Blues Wednesday night.

Raanta's performance was welcomed with open arms by the Hawks, who found out earlier in the day that first-string goalie Corey Crawford will be out for three weeks with a lower-body injury. On Oct. 25, Raanta lost a 3-2 game to the Blues. Wednesday, however, he stopped 40 of the 41 shots he faced from the Blues. His goals-against average improved to 1.77 and his save percentage improved to .947. He's 2-2 on the season. If you have Crawford on your fantasy team and you need a fill-in, you might want to emulate the Hawks and use Raanta.

When Antti Raanta skates out on the ice for his start against the Oilers it will be the first NHL game he will have played in nearly a month.
