Alexander Wennberg was on the ice before practice Saturday.

Wennberg is out with a back injury and should be back around the All-Star break as he was injured just before the Christmas break. It has been a tough season for the youngster who had only four goals and 16 points in 30 games after 59 points last season in 80 contests. Stay tuned.

Alexander Wennberg (back) has been put on injured reserve by Columbus.

Wennberg is slated to be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a back injury. He was hurt prior to the holiday break and didn't play last Saturday as a result. Wennberg has posted four goals and 16 points in 30 games this year.

Alexander Wennberg is projected to be out four-to-six weeks due to a back injury.

Wennberg only has four goals and 16 points in 30 contests this year, but he had two markers and three assists over a four-game point streak going into last Thursday's contest when he got hurt.

John Tortorella announced that Alexander Wennberg will not suit up tonight and that he would be out 'a while'.

Wennberg was injured during Thursday's contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's an unfortunate injury considering he appeared to have started turning his season around with five points over his last five games. The 23-year-old center currently has 16 points in 30 games and his status should be considered week-to-week for now.

Alexander Wennberg is questionable for Saturday night's game against the Flyers.

Wennberg left Thursday night's contest with 6:17 left in the third period with an undisclosed injury. The Jackets recalled Tyler Motte and Jordan Schroeder from Cleveland of the AHL on an emergency basis in case Wennberg can't go. Check back with us closer to the 7:00 pm puck drop for an update on Wennberg's status.

Alexander Wennberg extended his point streak to four games on Wednesday.

Wennberg scored a goal in Columbus' 4-2 win over Toronto. His four goals and 16 points in 29 contests is below what we would have hoped from him at this point of the season, but we are encouraged by his recent play. He might build on this to have a strong second half.

Alexander Wennberg registered an assist in Columbus' 7-2 loss to Boston on Monday.

Wennberg is on a three-game point streak. He's up to three goals and 15 points in 28 contests this season. While he might pick up the pace a bit, he'll probably finish well below his total of 59 points from 2016-17.

Alexander Wennberg scored the Columbus Blue Jackets' lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Building off his two-assist night Thursday, Wennberg scored for the Jackets on Saturday. Alas, it was his team's only goal. But maybe he's continuing to build favour with his coach John Tortorella, who praised him after Thursday night's game. Wennberg now has three goals and 14 points in 27 games this season.

Alexander Wennberg received some positive reinforcement from Blue Jacket coach John Tortorella Friday night

Torts has not been happy with Wennberg's play all season but the bench boss had high praise for Wennberg's two-assist effort Thursday evening. "It’s the most I’ve noticed him in a game (this season)," Tortorella said."It’s the most I’ve seen him do that (moving his legs and carrying the puck through the neutral zone) since even toward the end of last year to this point," Tortorella said. "It’s been that long of a struggle for him. So that was encouraging." Perhaps Wennberg, who has been in a season-long slump with only 13 points, will start to turn it around.

Alexander Wennberg (upper body) will return to the lineup on Tuesday night.

Wennberg hasn't played since Nov. 11 because of an upper-body injury. He didn't have a point in six straight games before he was hurt. Wennberg has been disappointing this year with one goal and eight assists in 18 games.

Alexander Wennberg (upper body) won't play in Monday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Wennberg has been out since Nov. 11 because of the injury, but it sounds like he's closing in on a return. He remains day-to-day for now, but he could suit up in Tuesday's game against Carolina.

Alexander Wennberg (upper body) practiced with the Blue Jackets Sunday and will be a game-time decision on Monday when Columbus is in Montreal.

Wennberg has been out of action since November 11 but made the road trip with the team to Montreal. "It’s good to be out on the ice with your boys and good to be out handling pucks and all that stuff, instead of being out with an injury," Wennberg said. "It feels better." Wennberg was pointless in his last six games before leaving the lineup and has nine points in 18 games thus far this season. He had 59 points last season so he is more than capable of being a fantasy asset.

Alexander Wennberg (upper body) skated on Sunday.

Wennberg participated fully in the session and he will travel with the team to Montreal for Monday's contest versus the Canadiens. He hasn't played since Nov. 11 because of an upper-body injury, but a return to the fold could be near.

Alexander Wennberg missed his second straight game with a full body injury.

Well, we have never heard of this injury before and it sounds painful. We wonder if even his fingernails hurt. Wennberg had only one goal and nine points in 18 games before the injury and had gone six straight games without a point. Consider him day-to-day with the unheard of injury.
