Mike McCarron will report to Laval of the AHL.

McCarron, who was the 25th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, continues to struggle with his skating and that is what appears to be holding him back. However, there have also been reports that the Canadiens are unhappy with McCarron who stands at 6'6" playing 'small.' He will need to work on his game in the minors if he wishes to get called up to the big club.

If Michael McCarron could improve his skating a little he could be a top-six forward next season in Montreal.

That's the current thinking out of the Canadiens. Although McCarron may not have the skill to be the Habs' number one center, he could be a second-line winger who brings size and scoring ability to the left side. McCarron is aware of what he needs to work on this off-season and if he can increase his foot speed, he could be a nice sleeper pick. Keep an eye on the 6'6" forward as there is potential for a breakout campaign.
