Ryan Hartman has been issued a one-game suspension for hitting Colorado's Carl Soderberg in the head.

Ryan Hartman will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for an illegal check to the head on Colorado's Carl Soderberg.

The incident occurred in the third period of Wednesday's contest and it landed Hartman in the penalty box for two minutes on a charging call. Hartman piled up six minutes in the sin bin in Game 4.

Ryan Hartman scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Dallas Stars.

Hartman gave the Predators a 1-0 lead at the 5:33 mark of the third period. He's now picked up a point in three of his five games since joining Nashville at the trade deadline. Hartman finished the night with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes and one shot on goal in 15:00 of ice time. The 23-year-old has 10 goals and 28 points in 62 games this season. Nick Bonino added an empty-netter before the end of the game.

Hartman was acquired from Chicago prior to Monday's trade deadline. He capped Nashville's comeback win with a goal at the 19:00 mark of the third period. Hartman had four shots and two hits in 13:29 of ice time.

Ryan Hartman has been traded to the Nashville Predators.

The Predators give up a lot for the 23-year-old Hartman who has been a healthy scratch at times this season. The Blackhawks get the Predators first and fourth round picks in 2018 as well as prospect Victor Ejdsell while the Blackhawks give up their fifth rounder this season. Hartman will be a bottom-six forward in Nashville who will provide some grit. Look for Hartman, who had 19 goals last season with 76 penalty minutes, to add to his minutes total this season as he tries to make an impression with his coaches and teammates. He has eight goals and 25 points with 58 penalty minutes thus far in 57 games.

Head coach Joel Quenneville didn't like the high-sticking penalty Hartman took that negated a 'Hawks two-on-one opportunity. To make matters worse, Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson scored on the ensuing power play to tie the game at one. "[You’ve got to] know the situation," Quenneville said after the game. "We’ve got the puck on a 2-on-1 and we’re playing well."

Hartman has been a healthy scratch for the last two games after the team wasn't happy with some of his undisciplined play. He picked up six penalty minutes in 10:22 of ice time against Washington on Dec. 6. It's unclear who will be scratched, but Richard Panik could be a possibility.

Ryan Hartman registered an assist in the Blackhawks' 3-2 shootout loss to Dallas on Saturday.

Hartman's production has come in waves this season. He got off to an amazing start with three goals and nine points in his first seven contests this season, but after that he just had one point from Oct. 19 through Nov. 25. He's started to heat up again though with four points in his last four games.
