Nic Petan skated with Adam Lowry and Drew Stafford in the third period of Sunday's loss to Montreal.

That bumped Alexander Burmistrov to the fourth line where he served as the combination's center. Burmistrov will probably rejoin his regular linemates on Wednesday against Toronto, but Petan could be an option in other games to be promoted when the Jets are looking for more of an offensive presence.

Nic Petan will skate on the fourth line in Sunday's tilt with Montreal.

Petan has averaged just 9:34 of playing time through seven games thus far, and he's barely hit the score sheet. We'd wait for his talent to begin to emerge before picking him up.

Nic Petan will be a healthy scratch against the Kings on Tuesday night.

Petan has averaged just 9:34 of playing time through seven games thus far, and he's barely hit the score sheet. The kid is talent, there is no doubt, but he hasn't quite figured out the big boy's league just yet. Anthony Peluso will skate in his place.

Nic Petan is still in Winnipeg's camp after 16 players were trimmed from the roster on Monday.

JC Lipon and Thomas Raffl are also still with the big club as bubble forwards. They are battling for one spot on the team. However, it would probably be better for Petan's development to play a larger role in the minors than seeing limited NHL minutes.
