Gustav Olofsson and Zack Mitchell will be scratched against the Blues on Sunday.
Neither player has a point between them in 11 combined games, though Olofsson has managed only a single game. Unfortunately, neither has done anything to create much of any fantasy value. Sun, Dec 11, 2016 04:35:00 PM

Gustav Olofsson will be scratched on Friday against the Flames.

The 22-year-old has yet to make a dent on the stat sheet through three NHL games. However he does have three goals and 12 points in 21 games for AHL Iowa.

Gustav Olofsson will be in the lineup Tuesday after all.

Nate Prosser could be scratched after he was bag skated in the morning. Olofsson will be playing in his third career NHL game and his first of the 2016-17 season.

Gustav Olofsson rejoined the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.

He practiced with the Wild on Monday, but is unlikely to play Tuesday night. Olofsson has registered 12 points in 21 games with AHL Iowa this year. He could make his NHL season debut soon.

Gustav Olofsson suffered an MCL sprain last week during the Traverse City Prospects Tournament.

The team is hoping that the injury is mild. He is slated to have an MRI when he gets back to Minnesota. Olofsson appeared in 52 games for AHL Iowa last season and he has undergone season-ending shoulder surgery for the last two years. The 21-year-old defender is proving to be quite injury prone.

The Wild have recalled Gustav Olofsson from Iowa of the AHL in time for Saturday's contest against Dallas.

It is not clear if Olofsson will in fact suit up, though. Olofsson had three assist in 21 games with Iowa this season and has no fantasy value.

Gustav Olofsson has been sent to the minors.

At least Olofsson got to make his NHL debut on Thursday before heading back to the AHL. He had a shot on goal in 10:41 minutes of ice time.

Gustav Olofsson made his NHL debut Thursday night.

He played because Marco Scandella was out with a lower-body injury and Jonas Brodin was feeling under the weather. Olofsson had one shot in 10:41 in Minnesota's 4-2 loss to Boston.

Gustav Olofsson has been summoned by the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild wanted an extra defenseman because Marco Scandella is unavailable. Olofsson has three assists in 17 AHL games this season.

Gustav Olofsson has been returned to the minors.

He was summoned from the Iowa Wild Thursday morning on an emergency basis, but he watched a 3-2 overtime win over Carolina as a healthy scratch.

The Minnesota Wild cut their training camp roster down to 27 players on Sunday afternoon.

The Wild previously announced that four players were put on waivers and they have now sent some players directly to the minors. Christoph Bertschy, Brady Brassart, Matt Carey, Maxime Fortunus, Kurtis Gabriel, Marc Hagel, Leland Irving, Michael Keranen, Dylan Labbe, Kevin Lalande, Zack Mitchell, Gustav Olofsson and Zach Palmquist will all start the season with the Iowa Wild.

Minnesota Wild assistant General Manager Brent Flahr was impressed with Gustav Olofsson's performance in the team's first prospect tournament game on Friday night.

Flahr mentioned that Olofsson was the team's best player throughout the contest. "Just the way he managed the puck and skated," Flahr said. "It doesn't always show as far as points, but he was tremendous." The 20-year-old was Minnesota's second round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He probably won't be a full-time NHLer this season but it's clear that the Wild's management are high on him.

Gustav Olofsson was Minnesota's star of the game in a 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets in a rookie contest Friday night.

The 19-year-old 2013 second-round pick didn't hit the scoresheet but impressed with Wild brass with a strong overall effort. Olofsson played college hockey last season in Denver and in the AHL for eight games with Iowa and has some modest offensive skills. We don't believe he will be a fantasy factor this season.

Gustav Olofsson has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild.

He will suit up for the Iowa Wild of the AHL on an amateur tryout to close out the year. "We're excited to get Gus under contract," assistant GM Brent Flahr said. "His performance this year at the World Junior Championship and at Colorado College exceeded our expectations and we're confident that he's ready for the next challenge in his young career. His skill set really excites us and we're looking forward to seeing him continue his development at the pro level." Olofsson was picked in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

With their first pick in 2013, the 46th overall, the Wild selected defenseman Gustav Olofsson.

Oloffson, who was born in Sweden, played in the USHL in 2013 with Green Bay and registered 23 points in 63 games. He is a big, mobile and puck-moving rearguard who is likely a few years away from hitting the NHL.
