The Minnesota Wild are still deciding whether or not they want to sign Kurtis Gabriel before the start of the 2013-14 campaign.

Signing Gabriel would allow him to play for the AHL Iowa Wild. However, they might opt to let Gabriel play in one more season with the OHL Owen Sound Attack. He could be the team captain and get plenty of ice time in the OHL, but in the AHL, he might be restricted to third or fourth line duties. He had 28 points and 100 penalty minutes in 67 OHL games last season. He was taken in the third round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
