Joseph Blandisi was summoned by the Devils on Saturday.

The 22-year-old has been excellent for AHL Albany once again this season. Blandisi has posted seven goals and 23 points in just 28 games. He has five goals and 17 points in 44 games up in the bigs as well.

He has skated in New Jersey's last three games and he topped just 10 minutes of ice time in each outing. Blandisi didn't register a point over that span and picked up a fighting major in Monday's win over Buffalo.

The Devils had an open roster spot after putting Jon Merrill on the injured reserve list. Blandisi has seven goals, 23 points, and 56 penalty minutes in 28 AHL contests in 2016-17. He hasn't played with New Jersey yet this season, but in 2015-16 he had 17 points and 34 penalty minutes in 41 contests as a NHL rookie.

The Devils have re-assigned Joseph Blandisi to Albany of the AHL.

The 22-year-old Blandisi scored five goals and registered 17 points in 41 games with the Devils last season after scoring nine goals and recording 14 assists in 27 games as a rookie for Albany. Blandisi will be back in the NHL sometime during the 2016-17 campaign.

Joseph Blandisi is looking to be more consistent in 2016-17.

The 22-year-old played in 41 games for the Devils during his rookie season. He had five goals and 17 points during that stretch. He'll look to make more of an impact this season. "If we look across the league, it's a lot of young guys making big booms now," Blandisi said. "So it's up to us to help the team score goals and bring the energy night in and night out. You want to be consistent, and I think that's something I need to work on. It's been my focus throughout the summer."

Joseph Blandisi feels better prepared to play at the NHL level in 2016-17.

"I realize when you come up here, how every day you have to be ready and prepared, and you have to treat your body the right way over the course of the season," Blandisi said. "I kind of fell off the map a little bit at the end of the year, so I think this year I know what it's going to take to keep my body healthy and be prepared for the end of the season." He didn't score a goal in his last 23 games with New Jersey and he went without a point in his final nine appearances. Blandisi picked up 17 points in 41 NHL matches. He is hoping to claim a roster spot out of training camp, but the arrival of Taylor Hall and Pavel Zacha as well as a healthy Mike Cammalleri could make staying in the NHL difficult.

Joseph Blandisi was a healthy scratch for the Devils in the 3-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, Tuesday night.

Prior to the game Blandisi had played in 37 consecutive games for the Devils. in 40 games this season, the 21 year-old has five goals and 12 assists.

A player is issued a warning after his first incident, so a fine only occurs after the player in question has been caught twice. In Blandisi's case the first incident occurred on Feb. 16 and the second happened on Feb. 23.

Joseph Blandisi has been credited with the lone goal from Sunday's 1-0 win over Los Angeles.

It was originally given to defenseman David Schlemko, but has since been changed to Blandisi on the deflection. The rookie forward has scored four of his five goals on the power play and he has 12 points in 18 matches this year.

Joseph Blandisi scored a goal and recorded an assist in a 3-2 loss to the Capitals.

The impressive rookie forward now has 10 points in his last 10 games. He has really helped ease the loss of Mike Cammalleri and is worth an add if you are in need of a quick fix at forward. Adam Henrique also scored for the Devils.
