Josh Anderson has been reassigned to AHL Lake Erie.
The 21-year-old forward has posted just three points in 10 games with Columbus this season, but he's up to nine goals and 18 points in 26 games down on the farm. Perhaps a sign of things to come after scoring just seven goals and 17 points in 52 games last season with the Monsters. Jan 24 - 2:02 PM

The winger was recalled when the Blue Jackets dealt Ryan Johansen to Nashville and were a forward short. Anderson started the game on Friday with William Karlsson and Nick Foligno as linemates. "We’ve had tremendous reports on Josh," coach John Tortorella said. "He’s going to get put in a third-line position, and I’m anxious to see him play." Amderson had nine goals, 18 points and 58 penalty minutes in 26 AHL games this season and had two assists in three NHL games before being held off the scoresheet Friday.

Josh Anderson delivered a game-high eight hits on Saturday.

He was playing in his second career NHL game. He has 11 points and 56 penalty minutes in 37 AHL contests in 2014-15, but don't expect him to do much offensively with the Blue Jackets in the short term. "It's not that difficult if you're a big guy to get to the net in juniors, or even in the AHL," Anderson said. "But that was the one thing that really stood out (in his debut on Friday vs. the New York Rangers.) The push-back is really something. The guys are so strong, you can feel it. It's really hard to find space right there. They make you pay. So I have to get used to that."

He was minus-one in 14:52 minutes of action but did have eight big hits in the game to lead all players. Anderson had four goals and 11 points with 56 penalty minutes in 37 AHL games before his recall.

He also chipped in with a few quality scoring chances. Jeremy Morin and Mark Letestu will be gaining a right winger with a fire in his belly tonight.
