Jan 22 - 10:19 AM

Josh Anderson delivered a game-high eight hits on Saturday.

He was playing in his second career NHL game. He has 11 points and 56 penalty minutes in 37 AHL contests in 2014-15, but don't expect him to do much offensively with the Blue Jackets in the short term. "It's not that difficult if you're a big guy to get to the net in juniors, or even in the AHL," Anderson said. "But that was the one thing that really stood out (in his debut on Friday vs. the New York Rangers.) The push-back is really something. The guys are so strong, you can feel it. It's really hard to find space right there. They make you pay. So I have to get used to that."
Jan 19 - 10:23 AM

Josh Anderson played on the second line Saturday alongside Scott Hartnell and Brandon Dubinsky.

It has been a meteoric rise up the depth charts for the 20-year-old who debuted on the fourth line on Friday and has already moved up to the second unit in his second big league game. He was minus-one in 14:52 minutes of action but did have eight big hits in the game to lead all players. Anderson had four goals and 11 points with 56 penalty minutes in 37 AHL games before his recall.
Jan 18 - 6:39 AM

Josh Anderson will join Columbus' third line on Saturday night in Ottawa.

While Anderson didn't light up the score sheet during his NHL debut against the Rangers on Friday night, he did manage two shots on goal, three hits, and one minor penalty in 11:21 of ice time. He also chipped in with a few quality scoring chances. Jeremy Morin and Mark Letestu will be gaining a right winger with a fire in his belly tonight.

Josh Anderson led the Columbus Blue Jackets to the 2014 Traverse City title.

Anderson, had three game-winning goals in the four contest rookie tournament, including an overtime marker in the Blue Jackets' 3-2 victory over Dallas on Tuesday. Fellow Columbus prospects Marko Dano and Kerby Rychel each finished the four-game tournament with three goals and six points. Oliver Bjorkstrand also had four goals and two assists for Columbus. Ryan Johansen is still a restricted free agent, which might cause some of the Jackets' prospects might play bigger roles in the preseason than they were originally penciled in for.
