Oliver Bjorkstrand had a goal and an assist Saturday.

Bjorkstrand had only one assist in his previous 13 games so perhaps this was a confidence builder for the 22-year-old. He has nine goals and 29 points in 55 games and has some fantasy value in deeper leagues.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored a pair of goals 78 seconds apart in the third period to provide his team with a 2-1 win in Dallas on Tuesday night.

Bjorkstrand crashed the net in the third period and he was rewarded. He also rewarded his fantasy owners with two blocked shots and a hit in a very good game for the Danish forward. He snapped a nine-game goal drought in style, posting his first two-goal game since Nov. 2 in Florida.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored a goal and an assist in a 7-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.

Bjorkstrand's points came too little, too late for the Jackets. He did, however, score his first goal in over a month. He now has six goals and 17 points in 31 games this season.

Oliver Bjorkstrand found the back of the net in a 5-3 loss to the Rangers on Monday.

Bjorkstrand is on a three-game point streak and has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last five contests. He's up to five goals and 10 points in 15 games this season. This is shaping up to be his first full NHL season after he recorded 13 points in 26 games in 2016-17.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice in a 7-3 win over the Florida Panthers on Thursday night.

Bjorkstrand has four goals and eight points through 13 games. He has been skating alongside Alexander Wennberg and what has been a productive third line for the Blue Jackets.

Oliver Bjorkstrand is still on the second line with Nick Foligno and Boone Jenner.

Bjorkstrand has a goal and four points this season and has been both good and bad thus far. Coach John Tortorella had a chat with Bjorkstrand at practice Friday and he responded with his first of the season Saturday. "I’ve been a little up and down the line," Bjorkstrand said. "I want to play more minutes so I can create more chances. I need to keep building on my skating and moving my feet in games. If I do that, then some better hockey will come from me." Bjorkstrand can be a 50 point player this season as he does have the talent.

Oliver Bjorkstrand registered an assist in Columbus' 2-1 overtime win against Carolina Tuesday night.

It was Bjorkstrand's second assist in three games this season. The 22-year-old does have a fair amount of offensive upside so he's worth keeping a close eye on.

Oliver Bjorkstrand wrapped up his pre-season campaign with a goal in a 3-0 shutout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

Bjorkstrand took a nice hard feed from Johnson and put the puck passed Murray to give the Blue Jackets 2-0 lead over the Penguins. Bjorkstrand played alongside Nick Foligno and Sonny Milano during this contest and could start the season that way with Milano having an excellent camp and pre-season. Bjorkstrand has plenty of offensive upside and could be headed for a breakout season with Columbus.

Oliver Bjorkstrand has done well in training camp so far, which has kept him in the running for one of the team's final roster spots.

"The biggest point for (him) is he spent a lot of time here this summer," Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said of Bjorkstrand. "I thought he was more prepared this camp, did a lot of great work in the summer. We kept closer tabs on him. He’s had some good minutes and has had some struggles, just like everybody else on our team." Even if Bjorkstrand does manage to make the opening game roster, he'll have to avoid the same kind of cold start he had at the start of 2016-17. Bjorkstrand appeared in three October games last year, but saw his role drop quickly and was consequently sent to the AHL for part of the campaign. He heated up towards the end of the season though with four goals and eight points in 13 contests with Columbus from March 5th through the season's conclusion.

Oliver Bjorkstrand hopes to stay with the Blue Jackets for the entire year in 2017-18.

"That's my main focus this year, and I believe I'm ready to take that next step and really have an impact on the team, and hopefully I can help win some games," said Bjorkstrand. "As far as personal goals I don't have any. Obviously I want to score goals and all of that, but my first focus is to make the team and help the team out in any way I can." He contributed six goals and seven assists in 26 games last season. Bjorkstrand has generated 21 points in 38 matches at the NHL level over the past two years. He could start the upcoming campaign on the third line, but has the talent to move up so he is worth monitoring.

Oliver Bjorkstrand will miss his third straight game with an undisclosed injury on Tuesday against Buffalo.

Fortunately for both Columbus and Bjorkstrand, he can get all the time he needs to make a full recovery before the playoffs begin. Consider him day-to-day, for now.

Oliver Bjorkstrand (undisclosed) won't make his return on Saturday.

It will be Bjorkstrand's second straight game on the sidelines. The silver lining is that he is feeling better, according to Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen.

Oliver Bjorkstrand didn't travel with Columbus to Washington on Thursday.

No surprise here after he was left bloodied by a Roman Polak hit on Wednesday. He went face-first into the boards and didn't return to the game. Don't expect him to play on Thursday night, but beyond that his status is unclear at this time.
